Engine Oil Indicator

Re: Engine Oil Indicator

Muddie,

Oil in water is better than water into oil.....had a friend that poured water into the engine.......and drove......

well i guess you know what happened.... lucky the car was old and could be scrapped cos the engine siezed...

Pls ask PML how they rid the water jacket of oil cos radiator flushes are usually acidic in nature and they tend to eat through the thin aluminium walls of the radiator. I think its good to know for peace of mind.

cheers

Delrosa, I just want to wish you the best of luck in your continental purchase. As for your Honda, I don't think you could make the judgment on all Japanese cars with your example. THe engine was a lemon, but if you installed an aftermarket ARB and it ripped your mounting plate, don't think it had much to do with build quality, right?

The Civic you mentioned I've driven numerous cars numerous times, auto and manual, and they work great. I know most of the owners personally, and they never had any issue.

Compared to BMW, Merc friends, ... I must say that the Civic has great user satisfaction.

Hi Centurion, yup, but frankly I do find a decline in quality for majority of cars across the board mainly attributed to cost cutting measures by manufacturers.

Yes I agree that my changing to a bigger anti roll bar and has unecessary stressed on the original mounting points that was meant for a much smaller anti roll bar. I guess I did not consider careful the big difference in stresses that caused the mounting plate to give way. Will take note of such things in future when modding my E90.

Ah talking about user satisfaction, one thing I like very much is the surge, sticking to the seats feeling when I accelerate hard from the lights. All 3, C180, IS250 and 320i did not give me this feeling of torque when I accelerate hard from the lights. But I attribute this due to the solidness and stability of the 3 cars I have mentioned earlier.

The more I post, the more excited I am about getting the keys to my new Bimmer next week. The days seem to passby real slowly.....haha:)

Oh man, you'll feel so jialat waiting, bro.

Before you install the ARB on the E90, note that the E36 (the first CAD/CAM designed BMW) had its rear suspension rip out from STOCK suspension stress.

The E46 and E90 and E92 has learned from such disasters. They are extra strong now.
