My 2006 E90 320i OBC display the engine top up indicator.
actually my last service at J4C, mechanic already told me that engine oil leak, but not very serious.
They quoted me 3K to change the gaskets and my gearbox oil (seems like leaking as well).
Any brother know cheaper alternative to get it fixed? maybe in JB?
Please don't ask me to change car. I decided to drive till scrap.
U can try other site sponsors like BVO, Boss Motorsports, etc.
If you are changing ur gearbox oil, might as well also change the flywheel oil seal while you are at it as it will leak sooner or later. Also change the ATF oil pan and oil filter.
These 4 items, ATF, Oil Pan, Oil Filter and Flywheel oil seal inclusive of parts and labour is approx. 1k as per quoted to me by BVO earlier.
Then there are the other oil seals like:-
1) Oil Filter Housing Oil Seal
2) 2 x Vanos Sensor Oil Seal
3) Valve Cover Oil Seal (Inside also got Vanos Motor Oil Seal)
4) Oil Sump Gasket
5) Engine Oil Pump (Near engine firewall area and check for leaks)
6) Oil Seperator or PCV Valve (Under Intake Manifold Area)
7) Crankshaft Oil Seal
Since your car is 2006 till now, you might also consider to change all Radiator Hoses and attachments, flush the radiator and top up with BMW Original Coolant. Change thermostat and waterpump.
Do brake fluid replacement and bleed.
Check ur ignition coils and spark plugs, replace if necessary.
Flush and replace your rear differential oil.
Change Power Steering Fluid.
Check Wheel bearings for "wong wong" sound, if there is, wheel bearings replacement is necessary.
Check under carriage for any anomalies with dust boots on the drive shafts, etc. Replace if broken, etc.
Then you should be good to go for another 2 to 3 years of relatively problem free motoring.
