Engine oil leakage

Hi,

was advised lat weekend that my e90 has signs of oil leakage and is advisable to change the sump and other related parts. will cost close to 1k and 1 day of work.

anyone has similar problems before ? is it common ?

E90 quite common for water seals n oil leakages after 2 yrs onwards.

just got mine done at BVO, it is normally the oil sump gasket that is worn, should cost about SGD 300 thereabouts only

in the mean time, u can ask them to check if there are any other water seals or gaskets leaks too.

There could be several reasons for the oil leak. If its the gasket, then its a few hundreds buck but if its the vacuum pump and solenoid, it will be $2K+

my case is oil leak from O-rings & seal of oil filter wch are common due to harden plastic bcos of high operating temp. sump is ok. Y2006/ 85kkm
wch year & mileage of yr car?

Mine is a 06' 523i at 120k mileage. You were all rite as they confirm it is ignition coil and gasket issues.

Where did you go for your such repair works?

WS @ AT performance, blk14 Sin MIng Ind estate #01-21. Boss is Alvin. WS is quite messy if u dont mine. If ask, just said is rec by 8876 (car plate). Go there before 9am to avoid long Q.
