Do you mean, a daily rate of $3 to $5 will make you change yr mind not to drive car? And take public transport ? Since you already spend so much to buy a car , what's $3 to $5 daily ?

At times it's the daily parking fee .

I'm sure a lot of people have some constructive ideas on how to help east the traffic. For example, demerit points for those travelling at 50 - 60 on the express way while holding up the traffic. Demerit points and fine (both drivers and company) for big vehicles hogging middle lane. Educate drivers to keep into the left lane earlier if they want to exit soon and not cut in at the last minute from the middle lane.

Just as how we penalise speeders we should also enforce a heavy penalty for those hogging the traffic. Better still cargo vehicles are not allowed on the express ways during peak hours.

Gahmen refine the COE entitlement ......

COE type 1 - drive only on 1,3,5 (120k) blue plate
COE type 2 - drive only on 2,4 (100k) yellow plate
COE type 3 - weekend (80k) red plate
COE type 4 - any day (300k) gold plate

If Shanghai can do this - Singapore sure can work. Remember how they make odd / even number cars drive on alternate days during the Olympics there ..... Traffic very good.

Best road pricing scheme - the longer you stay on the road, the more (and in an exponential manner) you will pay.

Taxis will have charges deducted from the fares the longer they stay on ERP areas.

Confirmed everyone will drive fast fast !!!
