then almost all (correct me if i'm wrong) are not developed for tropical climate like ours.. But for m54s, many have been running technic kits ie ASA blower without much issues.. however, vortechs blowers are running hotter apparently..

i think AA is vortech, and ESS is ASA?

Re: ESS supercharger systems

SC'ed M3 locally is just a bad idea..
To make the car fast n reliable, use the money to cut weight by 100-150kg!

Few things:
1. Change to LW rear muffler, orig is like 25kg
2. Change seats, no need CF coz too expensive
3. Light weight wheels, not difficult to cut 2.5-3kg of unsprung mass per corner
4. CF roof, get rid of the sunroof so u get a lower CG

Swee2x...

Only things to do on that car are brakes and suspension.

Vortechs are hot running even in cooler climates and cost a bomb to service. Friends I know using them usually adds an oil cooler for the SS and trade them up in about 2 years or so. Not too sure about the rest though.

Re: ESS supercharger systems

Holy Cow! 4.1 ...now how fast will that take u 0-100kph ?

apparently the new gearing would require me to do 2 shifts to get to 100.. so i guess even with the smg, the 0-100 time would remain the same if not slower than the stock gearing..

BUT, the gearing would give u harder acceleration in any gear!! just what i'm looking for.. :yummie:pulling in 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th is where the gearing would shine most.. also, top speed would be lower.. well, not that i would take the csl to 29+ all the time!! hehehe.. 27+ is ok, i dun mind..

Re: ESS supercharger systems

just curious, doesn't the SMG system autoblip the throttle when downshifting?

if so, did you reprogramme the SMG control unit to correct for the change in rpm-to-speed relationship resulting from the change in your final drive ratio?

Re: ESS supercharger systems

Yes, it does auto blip but alittle muted vs those E-gear, F1..

AFAIK, no need for reprogramming
But then wot do I know, I dont hv M3 anymore.......ha

Re: ESS supercharger systems

Anyone with local experience re: EES supercharger. Climate is hot, any bad experiences? Thinking of fixing it in my Z4 2.5.

Re: ESS supercharger systems

Just saw this thread ....
I hv the ESS twin-screw on my E39.
What do you want to know? So far no problem.
I say screw it (I mean ur Z4) if you want some fun...

cheers,
Francis
