F 10 523i Temperature.

Hi Guys, very new to F10. Recently engine coolant temperature shoot to 120 degree. Is it normal and did any u guys experience this before.Thanks.

Mine often stays around 120 degree after quite some time of driving. Nothing wrong with it up till now.

Bro, that is engine oil temperature.

i am confused here, is the engine oil temperature link to the coolant.When there is low level of coolant the temperature will shoot up.

After warm up - the engine oil temp is warmer than coolant temp.

I drive up and down the hilly roads in Hong Kong with the needle on or around 120C marker all the time. In stop-start traffic, too. My mechanic tells me to check the water level every month to ensure there is sufficient water otherwise 'nuthin to worry about. This is confirmed by the owners' manual that so long as it is at or left of 120C then all normal.
