F10 - 520i

Re: F10 - 520i

Didnt pull to one side for me, but these are the small issues. Speak to your SE especially if he's influential enought. Else you can look for this enthusiastic and well learnt though young in BMW Service Advisor Jeffrey Seet

Apparently, all my previous rides bought new require wheel alignment.

Yes, it should have been factory aligned.
My E39 virgin wheel alignment is after its 5th birthday.

It's well known that many BMWs pull to one side (google it). Mine too, but mine's not too bad. On right hand drive cars, it pulls left. On left hand drive cars, it pulls right.

To fix it in PML, you will need to do your homework to prepare to counter the "it's normal" replies that they will throw at you when they test your car.
My E39 was going straight even on NSH. I could even take off both of my hand on NSH & drink coke at 150km/h (I know it is wrong).

Re: F10 - 520i

Went to PML this morning & voiced my concern. Brought it for a test drive & they acknowledged the issue. Apparently it was slight which is about 2 lamppost distance, apparently this is how they calculate the pull.

I keep harping on the fact that the car is only 3 days old & this couldn't be happening. They tried to do a balancing of the wheel but the effect is still evident. So they given me a time slot on Wed to perform the wheel alignment.

I told them that although it is small but the car cost quarter of a million so it shouldn't be the case. Even told them that I could lower my expectations but that will mean lowering the standard of BMW. Is this what they want?

I ask for courtesy car during my repair as it is new & they source around but couldn't get me 1 so they promised to give me taxi voucher instead.

See how it goes on Wed & update you guys.

Thanks.

Yes it pulls left ... checked through history and many have done what you've done but after few days , it pulls again ! Mine too ...haha but seems to have gotten quite used to it ..... probably becos I always steer with left hand when slow cruzing ! Counter effect .
Let us know if its true that history repeats itself .... so to speak .

Re: F10 - 520i

Yah, recall reading about it somewhere as well. My thoughts is that if history repeat itself, it might be a good time to use the recently implemented Lemon Law.

Re: F10 - 520i

I wonder how to even start telling whoever interested about the issues .
I've gotten so many "its normal" until I also feel its normal ....what did your SE say ? No comment ?
They know but what can they do ? Advise you this align that align lah ... but never tell you its design fault right ?
Because the front console are seemingly design at an angle , so maybe steering also SehGnh a bit lah .
Maybe they already can solve the issue and you car will steer straight after align (But pls monitor a few days after) .
Please let us know .... I will queue up after you .

Re: F10 - 520i

Bro when I had my 3series before the F10 I was fortunate that the workshop incidents and car organic issues were well handled by a SA known as Jeffrey Seet try him. It takes one who is not numb to care, merry Xmas! And try get a trip more of taxi voucher a day, u never know where u need travel last min!

Re: F10 - 520i

None of the bmws we had have pulled left, Cept one E90 that went for tyre change n realignment at Stamford Loyang. Changed to left lane totally on its own within 1.5 lamp posts. Another E90 we changed tyres at Stamford Lok Yang was ok. Stamford resolved with two visits.

So far, both F10s are ok. Or could it be me who never noticed the L/R pull in the cars n blur blur..? I really thought they dont pull either way coz sometimes I'll put on my make up during parts of drive (most of the times, there'll be at least one hand on steering wheel). I'll find a straight road tmro and try. Without applying mascara concurrently this time.

The prob I have with current ride is that the radio static is ArrrggggggggghhhhhhH!!!!!!!! Tzzzzz..... don't wanna close my eyes TZE TZE.... Don't wanna fall asleep TZeeeee buzzzzzz cause I'll miss TSpZEEEEEe eeeee wanna miss a thiinnnng Tze Tze Tze.......

I don't think it's ok coz other bmws didn't have this prob...l will go to PML after Xmas season.... Yawn,.,,,,,

Re: F10 - 520i

Strange, mine also pulls to the left slightly. Is this covered by our extended warranty with PML ?

Re: F10 - 520i

Maybe one of you could try "staggered" wheels. Right wheel 19", left wheel 20".

Sometimes you got to combine art and science as one.

Haha a bold masterpiece stroke indeed!

Re: F10 - 520i

Guys, gotten my car back PML today after they postpone my return for a day. Told me that they did alignment twice and everything should be good now.

Using my hand dyno, I feel that it is better but not perfect. Maybe my own instinct driving me crazy. At least now when I let go of the steering, it does not slide to the left that obvious at all and I do not have to constantly pull right on my steering wheel.

Will observe it for another 2 weeks then decide whether to close the case. I specially ensure that this case was logged within their system so that if I need to use Lemon Law, there is record.

That's good. Happy to know. Keep us posted.

Hi, my 3 weeks old 520 f10 also have pull to left problem and radio tsk tsk problem. So what can I do? Book a slot with service center and ask them to rectify? Or what else can I do?

Re: F10 - 520i
