Dear All,
Evergreen topic again.
Currently driving F10 523i NA strawberry. Been pumping RON 98 for the last couple of months. Tried RON 95 before however feel that 98 is
1-smoother.
2-quieter.
3-acceleration power feels better.

Any brother have the same thoughts or just all the marketing hypes?

Finally found the time to read my car manual and found out that minimum is 92 and recommended is 95.
Is 98 really worth or just overkill?
Let's not touch on driving a F10 shouldn't even bother about RON.

Cheers!!

Stick to what is rec in the manual everythig else is hype. Calculate by $ per KM if that helps

personally, i use 98. i do believe there's a difference. many years back, when i had a company petrol card, i used v-power and the power was really noticeable. i think bmw needs tender care and i try not to skimp on what i feed it.

I have been using RON 95 since day one. Tried 98 few times but don't feel any different except pocket become lighter.

Mostly using RON95. I do agree that with RON98, the engine feels more responsive.
Difference with VPower was even more so... Engine felt taut and light. Acceleration was really smooth.

Alas, can't justify the premium over 95 when driving in Singapore though. Stop go traffic 99% of the time.

Agree with RSSID and other bro/sis here. Stick to what you feel comfortable and can afford in the long run. If its pt A to pt B, RON95 will suffice. If its pt A to pt B in a smooth shiok power feel on a traffic-free journey, then 98 or V-power.

Do note that in some countries, RON92 is the 'standard' fuel while RON95 is considered premium fuel!
