F10 loose steering - advice needed

Hi my F10 when stationery has a steering that feels loose. For new cars the steering feels tight and snug. But my steering there is a bit of free play in the sense you can turn about half inch left and right without moving the wheel.

There is no problem when the car is moving whatsoever and have no problems with alignment.

Does anyone have this problem and how to get it fixed. I am concerned about steering column components damage. Or could it be bushing worned? Btw I am on 21inch tires if that could be a factor.

Advice needed pls. Thanks

My advice is that you shouldn't have driven the newer F10, - nothing good can happen from that :)

What year is your F10?

What I meant is that the steering does not have that firm feel like when you first bought the car. And when stationary, you can move the steering as there is loose play. Mins is a 2011 model

Mine is a 2011 and I never found the steering any good since day 1 (actually pretty horrible). Numb and lifeless. They say the LCI is improved.

Tire pressure normal. Not sure about control arms. How to tell?

Normally if the control arms are bad, there would be some noises when going thru bumpy roads or while turning. Worn bushings could also be the cause. Best to ask workshop to check.

having driven an e60 and now an f10, I can say I much prefer the steering on the former e60.
