If your M5 is bought from Munch, it should be using 5W30 and need 5W30 or 5W40 for top up. If your car is from parallel importer and need to send to outside workshop for servicing, 10W60 can be used if it is a complete oil change. The F10 M5 burns engine oil like crazy and 10W60 will burn less in our climatic condition.

no offence but if the workshop manager recommends 10-60 for the new M5 engine. he is wrong.
Oil use should always stick to manufacturer specs. not workshop manager recommendations.
5-30 is the rating to go.
