F10 omv

Re: F10 omv

ARF is conveniently forgotten :)

Seems like pml profit as much as gov for 535.

Re: F10 omv

We probably have one of the highest cost in the world to buy / own a vehicle.....ARF, COE, road tax, ERP.... All adds up.

How come so many cars on the road????

actually last week I almost went down to downpay for the 535i. It's the newest model, and the best looking sedan in its class, and I really liked it. But an hour before I reached PML, logic got the better of me and I regretfully told the SE I was really sorry, but I couldnt bring myself to buy a 300k car at 60+k omv. So I went to the next shop at Leng Kee and bought something else. The 535i was my top choice, but because of one singular reason, I had to bring myself to get something else. I hope PML wakes up and realise they are losing customers from their pricing strategy. The other car I bought had the same omv, but I save almost 40k. I feel a bit wasted that I let go of a very beautiful car, but I feel happy that I did not let myself get suckered into a car priced very very wrongly.

You did the right thing. PML's prices are silly across the board. They have priced themselves out of the market.

In fact, common models give PML a margin of $100 000 +/- $20 000. The prices for E82, E92 and E89 are as silly as F10's. The E70, E71 and F01 are simply for big suckers. I'm mulling selling my E71 and getting another make instead.

I feel very sorry for F10 owners every time I see them. That car's depreciation is going to be super huge when it comes to selling.

In fact, the only customers who can genuinely smile are those who bought the E84 at only $133 800.

Re: F10 omv

Quite free today..looking at the range of OMV for BMW cars range from 3 onwards, it seems like all is very very low compared to Merc..

BMW 320i OMV - $20+ odd (Selling at $183k)
BMW X1 OMV - $28,400 (Selling at $160k)
Merc C200 OMV - $46,100 (Selling at $180k)

I think it is pretty obvious the which is better for value but i think Bros here who drove a Beemer, its about Driving Experience, rather than $$ Value.

Hmmmm let me guess..S5 or Jag? Its tough to forgo your first choice becos of lower OMV and not affordability...its like choosing to marry the second choice girlfriend due to lower dowry....

yup jin jiah smart, i got the s5sb. It's not as big or spacious. And I dont really like 4wd, and it doesnt look as nice as the 535i, but hey, at least the omv-price ratio makes more sense. It also has more toys inside than the 535i. Since we all know that cars are depreciating assets, the least we can do is to reduce this depreciation.

Good decision and good choice! Like robot, i'll be happy with a A5SB as well.

The F10 really doesn't makes money sense to me as well. Well, maybe because I've not 'arrived' yet. Haha. If I have a rich fat bank account and couple of hundred k's off doesn't make any diff to it, I won't have heck care about the miserable OMV. Too bad I'm not.

Though I'm not a SUV fan, I was quite fascinated when I saw the X1 ad in the papers. Then I saw one on the road a couple of days later. I almost stopped my car completely to take a better look at the car that was passing by me. Told myself that this is going to be the first SUV that I'm going to get, as I am also considering to change out wifey's car, and it might be more 'flood-friendly' also, haha! Called up my SE immediately, and she told me that price is 164k, omv 28k thereabouts. Did some quick punching on my casio. Damn, can't stomach the kind of margins they make, really can't. no matter how hard I try. Regretably, gotto let go of this car that looks so beautiful to me. I didn't even bother to go down to the showroom to see and test drive the car, cos I know I won't buy it no matter what, er, unless I kena Toto first prize and I'm the sole winner then it's a different story altogether.

Time to explore other makes, at least for me....

My 2 cts....

Re: F10 omv

hi, anyone knows whether the omv price is for pml, or bmwasia? If for bmwasia what's the price to pml? If profits are so high for pml, how much are the pis selling the 523i and 535i for similar specs? Huge difference in price?

Cars are not assets. They are liabilities. My wife tells me that every time i drive past a car showroom... SIGH :chinese:

Re: F10 omv

if you sell a 1 yr old car now and able to make profit. it's an ASSET. you can prove your wife wrong ! :chinese:

Re: F10 omv

to be truthful, I didnt do much homework before i got the audi, but from what I saw in the cabin, there are drive selections on the steering assistance, gear change speeds, pedal sensitivity and suspension choices, which are normally found on the M level cars in BMW, and not on the 335i level. I also specced it up with some rear differential thingy which vectors torque individually amongst the 2 rear wheels, which could reduce understeer noticeably. The 535i is still a much preferred choice. Because it is bigger, more comfy, more beautiful, and frankly, I like the auto transmission better than the DSG, because it is more comfortable. I have no problems purchasing the 535i at 300k because the value is there, provided that the OMV is at least 85-90k. Or, if they choose to keep the 60+k omv, I'm fine, but sell it at $260k instead. I still feel a bit wasted at missing out on the 535i, but perhaps some years down the road I'll spare myself some amount of grieve. Who knows, maybe the resale value will hold up well enough indeed, but personally I'm not about to take that chance.

I checked out the Panamera/Panamera S and the 535i's price seems even more of a joke compared to these.

Pls update us on your S5 Sportback ownership and after-sales experiences. The S/RS models are increasingly very attractive proposition to me.

Thanks!

Re: F10 omv

Yes, the Pana3.6 is about 40+k more expensive, but OMV is also around 40k more. And you get a porsche badge.

The S5 will only come end of the year, so for now I am BusMrtWalk. :)

Re: F10 omv

from the current advertized price in sgcarmart for 535, last year new PI M3s were abt same price! talk abt market timing!! buy car like buy property!

Re: F10 omv

Hi All,
I just collected my 535i from a PI. But i am in a dilema now.

As agreed with the PI se, the omv they promised is 52k to 55k but now it turn out to be 51k plus. This is small amount which i think i can discard this issue.
However, the agreement with them also stated 1st bid guranteed COE and COE rebate is $40k.

When i saw the paper, it stated cat B and coe is only $35,900. I asked the se so the company going to refund me back $4.1k? He also agreed but when he asked his management, they told him no refund. Why? And the reason is given below.

a. Its not open cat coe so no refund
b. Sometime coe there is lose there is gain. so depends on luck.

I not sure if i can claim back from them. I already paid and collected the car, so i plan to file a claim or go to case.

Bros and sis, please advise what should i do or best option to go for?

Thanks in advance
