Need some advice....PML year end offer on 523i Highline....only one color left; DEEP SEA Blue (don't fancy the color) with grey interior or oyster at SGD 254, 800 with 25K so called discount. landing at SGD 229,800... not so attractive, as being year end and clearance stock. they also have a silver and Black ( 1 each but reserved). i Like the Black, but it is JET Black with beige interior and not saphire black..(its Solid paint and not metallic). have not seen this color on the F10 b4. on the other hand 520i has all the possible exterior and interior combi price at SGD 237,xxx with SDG 5K discount + SGD 5K overtrade....landing at SGD 227,xxx
Not much freebies...3M mats and tinting. anything else that can be Squeezed from PML? vouchers? price diff between the last of the breed of 523i and the new 520i is +2K. accs comparison points that 523i is a better buy with 18" rims; sound sys; reverse Cam; park assist, which is not there on the 520i, while the rest is the same. 523i seems more refined compared to the 520i (6cyl vs 4cyl)
would you buy a car at the year end or wait for 2012, as would the re-sale value drop it being a dec 2011 as compared to Jan 2012. this will be the last COE bid for 2011, target registration 23rd Dec

for that price ($2K diff), i would take 523i "high line" - better specs with 6cyc
520i is new with $5K discount nia (chop robert for early mover). i expect more discount going forward. getting the last breed of 523i will protect you that price is not going to be discounted. imagine you buy now and someone buy 3 months later 520i (same model) at lower price.
in term of color combi, this is hard. would you spend $229K to buy something that is not 100% you like? to each his own.
resale value - no need to think too much. if coe going north, you probably can sell higher
523i resale is not guarantee lower than 520i (new model), some will complain 520i is 4pot nia and the accesories is not that great. so resale value is unknown and i have a gut feel that 523i resale > 520i although it's old model in the next 2 years before F10 LCI is released.
lastly, go with you heart. buy a car that you like and not someone else like.

Buying in Dec 2011 or Jan 2012 does not make a difference when you sell to 2nd hand dealer... they will tell you that its YOM 2011. I almost gotten the 523HL last weekend, in the end I decided on 520 as they dont have the colour combi which I like.

some pple will go for colour combo they like, some will prefer IL6 to 4 pot, to each his own i feel you should get something you like with regards to driving feel and in the colour you like bro end of the day pay for something which u like else 3 months later ass itchy wanna change again

The year end thing is old school car dealers trying to squeeze a cheaper resale from u... doesn't matter much any more. Perhaps more in Malaysia context as we now use COE and OMV to calculate value of resale car now.
As much as i6L being a more refined and strawberry ride, colour is very important as well. Don't end up buying car then regret and go to respray colour later. Is there an overtrade on top of the 25k discount?
Go with heart is important as s2k put it.... 220k plus... must have feel good factor.

as long as you buy car in singapore...you lose money for sure...buy a color u like i say. i brought my friend to PML....outright no 523i cause no colors suitable for him....but buying the 520i or 528i now is a tough decision since u won't get much discount

for 523i HL not overtrade on top of the 25K, but the SE is trying to help get a good price for my e90 preFL. test drove the 520i, kinda like it....and has the perfect color combi....white exterior+mocca brown interior....thinking what else i can squeezeeee from PML????
