F10 truck cannot open - how to solve?

Hi anyone know how to open the car truck? i try to use the remote and car button still cannot open.
please advise.

You mean trunk? Car Boot?

Normally is when battery totally flat, cannot open trunk as it is electronically locked. Happened to me when my starter spoilt and battery was flat. Solution is to parallel connect a battery to charge up and then open.

If not battery problem, then probably wiring? Better go back to PML or any of the Site Sponsor to take a look.

Anything illegal in the boot? Just kidding, good luck!

I can open trunk with remote FOB or the button at the driver footwell...

But when I try to use my hands to pull or depress the trunk "above the number plate".. cannot open! Why ah?

Oh my god.... so many many problems with buying a used BMW.

Does anyone know the part number or how to buy and replace?

I faced the same issue too 2 months ago so i replaced mine at "BM Workshop" for slightly under $50. But then i notuce something there after, is that the contact switch may Not be faulty. U probably have to bend the contacting plate a lil nearer to the switch. So u might wanna give it a try if u can handle minor technical works. Since its already "spoilt", no harm trying, thats my opinion.

My suspicion is that the car was sent for spray works and the ppl didnt fix the switch back properly.

I think my contact switch is dead.... cos I press super hard liao.

I was quoted $36 parts only.... will have to someone switch it out.

I know my F10 523i has Comfort Access but I don't know if it was the "soccer kick" boot release.

How do I check?

AD unit dun hv. If you can find one that has, likely was fitted somewhere. Honestly, I find this a useful feature.

Comfort access for bmw just means keyless entry and car start function. The others are add-on options.

I also cannot find the valet trunk "lock and unlock" switch.... I open the front centre arm rest dun have...

Open the glove compartment also dun have... where is it?

I bought the trunk release mechanism which comes with the contact switch and replaced it.

It's a 10 mins DIY job with a simple screwdriver.

Finally I can open my trunk properly!!
