F30 new owner - Need Ext Batt for iRoad V9?

Happy New Year everyone!

My virgin post in this forum and new owner of a second hand F30 316i.
I have a set of iRoad in-car cam -V9 which I will like to install on the 316.
I will want it to have parking monitoring too.

Is it an absolute must to install/connect to an external battery batt?
I was quoted $380 (not even iRoad brand) for the extra batt, which I think its quite ridiculous.

So seeking advice from the bros here.

if you do not want an extra batt, u can try either not to run it in 24 hrs mode or if want, in power control mode settings, select power cutoff at 12.3v. There is a risk of car battery going flat though. Best if u have a voltage display like those u plug into cig jack can see voltage at times.

I have install a batt. $360 . Same ride with u .

Run it with external battery.

Otherwise, you will run here to ask question on error code.
