I realise many "expert" views also were from "my friend's car" or "I heard..."

Wait till you see the Pied Piper of newbies trying to lead newbies......

Re: F30 through heavy downpour

Actually I got the same symptoms while driving through heavy rain in my previous ride ...... My previous ride's side skirt is 10cm from the ground. I like low CG.

As the water was around 15cm high .... my tail pipe was partially submerged whenever the bus behind was causing waves when it brakes in stop-start traffic ........... whatever you can say about exhaust gases coming out from the exhaust and water cannot enter etc .... laws of hydraulic flow still applies .... water went in and filled up my muffler.

Next day my exhaust tone and volume changed ....... extra garang and burbly.

I think it all evaporated after a week. And at that point - sounded even more louder then before.

Re: F30 through heavy downpour

RBB what u say is true. the water flooded the rear muffs. I got that in a PML car wash! ur exos note will sound thunderous and crackling. but that will not cause a sensor to come on. the sensors r all pre or p0st mid cats.

it wun affect ECU and engine.
