my window tinting also failed at sin ming. nowadays the SOP they will just use the light machine by default, so EVERYONE will kena.
asked me to come back again to reinspect. i said politely the hell i will come back again. so i ripped them off on the spot and they passed it without using the machine again (coz obviously i ripped it off). i didnt feel any pain coz i didnt pay for the tinting; it came with my car.
so, if you want to play punk, paste 2 layers, like maybe paste another layer of microwave wrap over it. then rip that off in front of them. hahahaha idea boh? pls some hero try and let us know. heheheheh

ripping of the tint didnt work for me. there was a layer of adhesive that remained that still caused me to fail. had to quickly go down the road to have a tint shop scrape of the adhesive for $40. came back and the light meter actually showed my stock tint embeded in the window was still a couple of points below the minimum approval level. luckily the insepctor let me off because there was nothing i could do other than actually changing all the glass...
