A rain tree along Admiralty Road West was uprooted and hit a car at around 4.35pm Saturday afternoon.

The male passenger died, and driver was sent to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, according to a statement by NParks.

"We understand there was strong wind and rain at the time of the incident. Our priority now is to accord assistance to the family of the deceased," said Mr Poon Hong Yuen, CEO of NParks.

Have wind and rain, can't be driving topless. sad but trees falling can't be help.Even walking below buildings, things drop or gets thrown.

Dangerous so please be careful and drive in center lane if it helps?

It's not about the tree. Tree is always there.

It's about the soil condition ....... I saw katarina before....that one is strong winds so dunno what npark fellow is talking about when he says strong winds here.

Here....dunno what they were digging around that weakened the soil until like tau hu soft ....

now that we have flash flood monitoring for water level to minimise property damages....
more importantly to preserve life, looks like we should have strong wind warning as well whenever storm is brewing from weather bureau, drive to MSCP and wait.... but then again sh1t! sooooo many trees on the island...
