just did a mileage chk on my car as i saw some threads talk abt FC of BMW.

mostly abt 12km/litre if speed is 70kph ave
so the new BMW engine really can do better than some mid-size engine like the famous Cefiro!:laughlik:

I drive a e60 525. Only city driving, 420 klicks on the full tank on average...

constant speed of between 70-80km/h get about 13km/l on my 523i ,on normal driving with 60/40 city-highway about 7.4 km/l

That's a pretty big diiference, almost 50%! For me, the diff between highway vs city is about 25-30%

me mostly start-stop driving. average is doing 6.5km per litre

Wah lau, 6.5km/ltr only?! Your tank within one week finish liao? I think average FC for E60 on Sg roads should be 8.5km/ltr to 9km/ltr, assuming you are not Toto who will rev his engine each time he blinks

I believe it also depends on mileage new BMW engines typically do not give optimum mileage. The mileage tends to improve after say 20000Km or so. My previous E46 in HK started to get better after 30000Km. Singapore traffic is also unpredictalbe. If oyu drive along orchard, bukit timah everyday during traffic chances are you get poor consumption figures.

6.5km/l seems more like he soup-up car...:woowooo:
1 week? i think within 3 days need to go pump up man!
my mileage now ave 8.3km/l (30%city) each pump abt 63litres, can last me 5~ days..

I agree. Mine is 04-525 and average mileage is approx 8.5km per litre. I don't see how it can be substantially improved.

Over CNY, I drove to Ipoh at approx 140-150 km/h - consumption was 11.5km per litre. By the time I reached there, computer showed that I could drive another approx 180 km before refueling. Trip was done with one full tank without stopping for refuel.

I drive a 523i, about 10km/l mostly on highways 80-90km/h. using spc 95

FC will surely increase as you got more grip mah
but some bro say that FC do improve if use 18"/19" rims, but i m sceptical on this aspect.:laughlik:

When you said remove cats, do you mean remove just the front 2 cats or change the headers?

Did you remove the middle resonator?

In my opinion, in theory not possible. But in reality, because these cars may not be able to accelerate that fast when u put your foot to the paddle, maybe these people have no choice but to drive "more smoothly"! Thus in the past... use more fuel that way.. now... no choice..
