If z4 driver has long wavy heavy hair will affect FC?

The long wavy hair will cause more drag thus higher fc and lower top speed

Yup.. Your prediction came true a few days ago...:)

X5 with N52 is qutie thirsty and plus your city driving .... 5km/l reasonable la
What is your X5 3.0 mileage ? Older car tend to have higher fc.
City driving with my ex 523 and RX300 get 6-7km/l too and bear in mind they are few hundred kilo lighter than X5

Re: FC on X5 3.0

What grade you using now?
Dun think will have significant impact on fc for your case

Re: FC on X5 3.0

i reckon rip off the top and change to a soft canopy could increase milage
and change to smaller tyres too could further help

change to smaller tire sure get better fc from trip computer
but fact is you do not really get the real fc as shown in the computer cos your car comsume the fuel but did not travel as much mileage as the trip computer calculated

should be "smaller & lighter" tyres

Re: FC on X5 3.0

Hey,

You mean you just get it and carry on driving???
Should send it to workshop for a check and oil change and stuff upon collection .....

In your case, then i can give you tons of possibilities like worn piston ring if high mileage, spark plug old and dirty, dirty air filter, and many many more.

Re: FC on X5 3.0

i think i am trusting the idrive blindly.

actually I need to also correct, I think my driving is mostly city. stay central, work central.

Re: FC on X5 3.0

mike, just do a test. find a late night, drive from home to east/west and back (clock at least 30km in all). remember to reset the mileage comp first before doing that. then see if the FC goes up to 7 or 8 or higher. if the reading is much higher than your 5km/l, then things should be normal and it's just the 100% city driving that's killing your FC.

Re: FC on X5 3.0

I just got my X1 sDrive 20i 2 weeks ago. My FC is about 8km/l.
I did not activate the auto start/stop as I read that it will result in earlier wear of parts.

Re: FC on X5 3.0

My X5 running on 22" rims is averaging 5.5km/L. 60/40 city vs highway driving.
Not sure it is normal. Ha...

FC on X5 3.0

I am now averaging 6km/l with 99.5% driving, 18 inch rim. :)

Was thinking of changing it to 20inch...
