Feedbacks : For E90 323i - What is your FC?

Hi Frens, gathering some feedbacks here. What is your FC? (km/l)

For E90 323i (2005 - 2009 Models).

Assume the following driving conditions:
"Start/Stop" type of city driving most of the time, maybe only 20% time on expressway.

What are your specs?
- Rim Sizes? (16", 17", 18" or 19")
- Tire Profile? (225/45, 230/35, etc...)
- Last oil change? (1 mth ago, 6 mths ago, 12 mths ago......or never change before)

Sad to say my FC really sucks.

My ride is e92 323i,
FC is 14.1L per 100km
Mileage: 15,000km
Last oil change 3-4 months ago 10k
2009 stock
on 19" Breyton Low Profile rims/tyres
Car has sun roof and is fully M Kitted

Can u also share your FC please. Technically we have the same engines....

Bro Nightwind, yours a sports car. Vroom, Vroom......high FC worth it.

Mine raw, No mod.....only K&N filter dropped in recently. No roof, No M kit.

My info below:

My ride is e90 323i (2006 model)
FC is 15L/100km, or 6.6km/l. (a brand new E90 323i spec says 8.8km/l)
Mileage: 61,000km
Last oil change 1 mth ago.
17" Bridgestone (225/45)
My driving pattern : 70% "start/stop" city driving, only 30% highway.
Full tank 55 litres can only fetch me 370km.

I m driving E93 325 running on 19" rims but I can get ard 430km.
Maybe cos I travel more on highway.

450km sure can ... and if don't gun when traffic light turn green ... 500+km is no problem
each time i reset my OBC FC ... it says 9.7km/l .. that's the best i can do liao

sounds good.........so far all 4 cyc i think around there but not the 6 cyc ( i think )

Yes, mine better. 90% city driving, 19" rims, e90 325, FC is 6.5km/l.
Full tank is 360km.
Best FC u can get on a BMW, ac323 say one. :nehnehhh:

Frens,

Religously change oil every 5K, change sparkies every 15K, maintain no more than 3K rpm most of the time driving, like that can improve FC not?

My E90 335i was doing 5.6km/l previously but after replacement of HPFP and software upgrade by PML, FC has improved to 6.5km/l.

If this is ur normal style of driving, that's fine.
But if you are purposely controlling it, u are saving on petrol but u wasted the whole car. Specifically a BMW IL6 engine.

Er mine is a coupe but not a real sports car. Its not M3.....and i did not mod the engine. I have the same engine as your e90 323i sedan....2,5L straight 6 with 190bhp so our FC should be the same.

In fact your FC should be better;
a) Your cover has 61,000km so engine is loosened and well seasoned
b) You have 17" Bridgestone (lightrer than my 19" Breytons), unless u are on stock run-flats
c) You dont have a sun-roof

So your FC of 15L per 100km is on the high side.....:thinking:

Anyway once the warranty is over i am considering an ECU remap to improve FC and performance..

How long have u had your ride and do u drive interstate? Is the engine sluggish some times at low speeds...e.g. in the morn when u start off?

Mine is...my FC was so bad in Jan...it was 18L to 100km!!! Thank god it improved every month as the engine loosened up and after the oil change.

However I also know frens with same rides who have FCs of 12-13L per 100km...

Do u thinkj FC for 325i will be better? Thks

My E90 335i was doing 5.6km/l previously but after replacement of HPFP and software upgrade by PML, FC has improved to 6.5km/l.

is changing the HPFP a major job? With software upgrade how many days to need to leave your car at PML? Will upgrade the Power Kit by BMW Performance help in the FC?
