Feedbacks : For E90 323i - What is your FC?

Re: Feedbacks : For E90 323i - What is your FC?

Thanks Observer7,

Your configuration are almost exactly same as mine. Same mileage, same tire, same production, same FC....haha.

Re: Feedbacks : For E90 323i - What is your FC?

Hi for a fully "runned in" car your FC is rather high. Maybe you are heavy footed. My car has same engine as yours, and I put in 19" rims (versus your 17") and also a sun-roof and i also use paddleshift...and yet my FC is 14.1L per 100km

The FC sucks but its still better than your ride....i think u must be heavy footed la. Otherwise u better get the car checked out and tuned.

One interesting fact i note is that the FC on the 323i engine seems to be very bad compared to a 325i (same engine capacity but 325i has higher bhp at 218)....

I think the 323i needs high revs at low speeds (below 50km) and that kinda eats up alot of fuel. The car is ok when its on the go....but the lower bhp seems to affect the revs at lower speeeds.

I am conisdering a full engine remap ECU when the warranty period expires.....

Bro Nightwind, yours a sports car. Vroom, Vroom......high FC worth it. :)

Mine raw, No mod.....only K&N filter dropped in recently. No roof, No M kit.

My info below:

My ride is e90 323i (2006 model)
FC is 15L/100km, or 6.6km/l. (a brand new E90 323i spec says 8.8km/l)
Mileage: 61,000km
Last oil change 1 mth ago.
17" Bridgestone (225/45)
My driving pattern : 70% "start/stop" city driving, only 30% highway.
Full tank 55 litres can only fetch me 370km.

Hi Nightwind, just to share, I have similar driving pattern as pandora21 (mine is 80%C, 20%H) and the FC for my 325 is also around 6.5km/L. After I became lighter-footed (not to save fuel, but for safety reason), FC improved to 7km/L. Very small diff :laughlik:

However if my driving pattern changes to 20%C, 80%H, my FC can go up to 9-9.5km/L. :)

Hope the info is useful for ur comparison and Huat Ah!

Re: Feedbacks : For E90 323i - What is your FC?

Ok thanks C3P0 i guess i was wrong....i had thought that with a detuned 2.5L engine the FC and performance of a 323i would be worse than a 325i. sounds like in terms of FC there is not much diff between the 2.

How old is your ride? Maybe the FC is so high coz engine is not runned in yet?

My mileage is 38k km.
The engine is very fuel efficient when driving long distance on highway. But in start stop traffic, very bad.....

Re: Feedbacks : For E90 323i - What is your FC?

38k km engine should be well seasoned. U r right the start stop traffic in singapore really drains the tanks.

And 6 cylinder BMs at idling will also drink more fuel than a 4 potter?

I have given up trying to improve FC on my ride...14.2L per 100km is the best it will do. Even when I drive it to KL, it only drops to 14L per 100km

The car feels sluggish in the morn. Seems to require high revs to get moving. After awhile when ist warmed up its ok.....any way thanks for sharing the very usefull details on FC and performance...

My X3 is giving me 15l/100km... the bloody car is too heavy :(

big difference with my 320, which was giving me 11.5l/100km...

good thing i don't drive much... usually to office and back
