No jerk...just the 80k km ATF change due...

Re: Flushing ATF

Recommend change the filter, fluid and clean the pan / magnets..........and there's a proper way to refill the fluid. Google for more info.

Re: Flushing ATF

Please watch what you recommend, too much new ATF at one go can also damage the transmission. The seals within the gearbox can pop off when too much new fluid is introduced into an old gearbox.

Are you going to assume full responsibility if you instruct the workshop to drop as much of the old oil as possible? I suppose the usual response would be " how come after you change the gearbox oil my gearbox start to leak?"

What some people can get away with does not mean all can get away... I am not trying to flame anyone or any site. Just trying to make sure the other side of the story is told.

Re: Flushing ATF

Can you explain a bit on how the seals will pop off when the new atf is used? Wondering.

Thanks bro. Might need your help, having a tricky situation with the valve cover gaskets now. Towed/drove back to the $^#]%* agent 4 times this week.

This is very true... some call this gearbox shock or something to that effect.

Usually, any decent workshop will probably recommend to re-use part of the old ATF (can't recall is it 1/2 or 2/3) with the rest being new ATF to prevent gearbox shock.

Looks like many workshops in SG are indecent then. Any rules against blacklisting workshops with f'ed up workmanship that need you to go back 4 times to redo a simple replacement?
