It's true that branded stuff and cosmetics are cheaper in HK when you compare with Singapore. You could try steam milk pudding at Yee Shun Dairy Company locate at 506 Lockhard road, Causeway Bay. Some say Australian Dairy company at 47-49 Parkes street, Jordan, Kowloon (close on Thurs) is as good or better.

As for your kids, just make sure they do not get out of your sight or stray too far from you alone. I guess this apply to every country you go.

Re: Food lobang for HK trip

Tim ho wan in Hong Kong queue for 2-2.5 hrs.... NO LAH!! There applies only to singapore.

I went to the one in sham shui po n Hong Kong island, both less than 10 mins, no fuzz no buzz!

it's cheap n good, but if I were to queue up for more than 20 mins for it, I wouldn't be bother.

I was there just last week. Went to Tim Ho Wan in Sham Shui Po on a Sunday morning, only queued for less than 30 mins. Dim sum is good and reasonable prices too. Check out the Golden Computer Center since you're there, lots and lots of electronics stuffs but damn crowded.

Some of the 'must go' places for me and my family:

1. Australian Dairy, my kids love the breakfast there: Australia Dairy Company - Hong Kong Style Dessert Tea Restaurant in Jordan Hong Kong | OpenRice Hong Kong
2. Yee Shun Dairy. the milk pudding is good: Yee Shun Dairy Company - Hong Kong Style Dessert Tea Restaurant in Causeway Bay Hong Kong | OpenRice Hong Kong
3. Seafood station. Nice seafood in TST area and not ex too: Seafood Station - Seafood in Tsim Sha Tsui Hong Kong | OpenRice Hong Kong
(warning: DFS is just beside this restuarant)
4. Tsim Chai Kee Noodle. Wanton mee damn good: Tsim Chai Kee Noodle - Guangdong Noodles/Rice Noodles in Central Hong Kong | OpenRice Hong Kong
5. Tai Cheong Bakery. Egg tarts: Tai Cheong Bakery - Hong Kong Style Bakery Takeaway in Tsim Sha Tsui Hong Kong | OpenRice Hong Kong

If you're going up the Peak, can eat dinner at Bubba Gump. Nice view! Either go earlier or make a reservation, queue is long for dinner.

Enjoy your trip!

Re: Food lobang for HK trip

thanks for the good info . I planning to bring my kids to Disneyland and Ocean park.

But I heard the ocean park has nothing much , not worth visiting ? It like our under new water aquarium in sentosa nothing much?

After I visited Gold Coast SeaWorld, nothing seem to be close to that standard. The most miserable one was London aquarium, it is expensive and nothing to see lolz

personally i prefer aquarium at ocean park more than our marine life park ... theirs are mature fishes one big tank where u can go level by level to see the diff kind of fish that ..ours are jurvenile fishes and here one tank there one tank ... if you have never been there at least go once ... if it is really not good then next time dont go

We actually feel that Ocean Park is more fun than Disneyland, much more things to see and do there.
We brought our kids to Disneyland again a few months ago, and we finished our day at 3pm+!

Re: Food lobang for HK trip

thanks for the info, then most likely we will try to go to the Ocean park as well.

Re: Food lobang for HK trip

BTW, if you are planning to buy a SIM card for data access, go to the airport departure level, there's this shop call "1010", bright yellow logo. Buy a prepaid SIM card for HKD88, carrier is one2free. Ask them to activate data access for you at HKD78 for 7 days access (minus from the HKD88 card value), and you will still have HKD10 for making local calls. Local calls is only HKD0.10/minute. Damn worth it. The data access speed is good, I use it to make Viber and Skype calls without problems.

Re: Food lobang for HK trip

If you like claypot rice, must try out Kwan kee. potentially the best in town. the rice at the base of the claypot is crispy, without being overly burnt. their liver lap cheong is a slice of heaven. their is also the pork bone soup, which is lovely. the only problem is that you need to call to make a booking. and the people there can be abit curt, unless u are regulars...but it does add to the "flavour". 263 queens road west, +852 2803 7209. must call, must book.
