** The shocks are SOLD **
** Thanks for all the interest **

Hi,

I've a set of Koni FSD (self adjusting soft/hard) shocks for sale. The model no is 2100-4036. According to Koni website, it is suitable for E90/92/93, all engine types, all suspension type (ie msport or non). But please re-verify this yourself.

The shocks were bought in late May 2012 and installed on my car in June. Just dekitted yesterday. Bought for $1300 (got receipt to show), selling for *sold*. Still under factory limited warranty of 1 year.

These shocks are good for comfort with some improvements during hard sporty driving. These shocks are nowhere as hard as the Koni yellows.

Interested, please sms me at 96269266.

**** FROM KONI WEBSITE *******
KONI introduces FSD, the first no-compromise shock absorber in the world. Two characteristics that seemed diametrically- opposed, proved to be a source of inspiration for specialists from KONI. Following lengthy development and testing, the ultimate solution was reached: KONI FSD - Frequency Selective Damping.

A revolutionary new technique whereby the benefits of both types of ride characteristics are combined in one perfect shock absorber. Banishing the disadvantages of the past. FSD shock absorbers; a smart suspension system adjusting automatically to road conditions as well as driving style. And all of this in a fraction of a second. FSD guarantees greater stability, greater control and thus greater driving pleasure. To learn more about how FSD works, click here.

Advantages of FSD
› Ends the compromise between comfort and handling
› Can be integrated in conventional damper layouts
› No need for sensors, cables, or other electronic devices
› Creates an additional variable in fine-tuning the car’s behaviour
› Quick and easy to develop for existing suspensions
› Damper cost efficient

My experience with Koni FSD:

There are real comfortable and good for sporty driving and taking corners reasonably.

Please note that they need to be fitted with stock springs.

Shortened springs will shorten the life of the FSD absorbers real quickly.

Bump bump bump......

Most importantly, make sure use shorten bumpstops. Else shocks will not work properly.

About 4cm shortened ?

I was running about that - 1.5" shorter. Maybe a tad shorter might be good. There are no specs so had to trial and error

How much will the shorten bumpstop cost and to install?

I just cut the bumpstops so cost me nothing. Install is the same as any suspension install - 100-200 ???

Re: For Sale: Koni FSD Shocks for E90/92/93

How did you know that the bumpstops needed to be shortened?? Is there a Koni installation instruction or something?? =)

From the usa forums. Koni instruction sucks. Also the stock msport e93 bumpstops sit on the stock shocks. That prevented the fsd from working properly. Ended up permanently in soft mode. The fsd shaft needs to move unimpeded in order to do its switching magic. (this is from the usa forums - e90post I think).

I had to squeeze my hand in the wheel well (quite a challenge) to check the distance between the bumpstop and top of shock body. Shocked to find here was no space in between.

Re: For Sale: Koni FSD Shocks for E90/92/93

Thought I read somewhere that the BMW performance suspension bumpstops are shorter than stock..... wonder if i could go order that instead...
