50 bhp more??? Thats alot man!

Even the evo9 guys replace thier stock "magnesium" turbocharger! They Kaa-putt with just a little higher boost. The lightweight N52 "magnesium" block is only meant for NA. Period.

50 more bhp for the 523 is only about th same output as the 525 with the same N52 engine. So why not?

Block may be similar, in theory you are right when comparing a 523 to a 525. Perhaps the heads are different? Not too sure about this but its definitely worth doing a little bit of research into it

Re: Forced Induction

If it's so easy to get a 523 up to 525 power then nobody will buy 525 liao!!

BMW not Stoopid, they spent millions & millions on R&D just to let someone hack into their DME software??

40bhp difference & almost $40k price difference......

Re: Forced Induction

nothing is stopping you from buying the ecu and engine of a 525 and putting it in there right? after all you're still paying 2.5 litre road tax... maybe even can get LTA to sign off and then revalidate your insurance...

Nope! U can't do that!!

It's not as easy as you think bro!!

BMW wun code the new ECU & engine for you that's for sure!

Our key is coded to the DME & chassic number.

Re: Forced Induction

just curious, then how do people go about transplanting bigger engines for their cars? so they just put in the 525 engine into a 523 for example but still use the old 523 ecu and tune from there?

Re: Forced Induction

I think a few bros have installed superchargers in their cars. How to get around the problem during inspection time at VICOM?
