Hi,
I have been driving 2009 E60 525I for past 2 years+ on 17" stock rim.
1st Year : 8.0-8.1KM/L (60% Highway/ 40% City)
2nd Year till now : 7.0-7.2KM/L (50% Highway/ 50% City)
Not sure why the significant change..................

Maybe fuel injectors a little clogged up. I used 3M fuel additives to clean mine out when I inherited my ride. My first full tank got me 7.4km/L and I do 50% Highway and 50% city. After the 3M, I got that kind of result. So far I only added the additives once. Also sometimes throttle body needs a bit of cleaning too as can also cause some clogging issue. For that I would recommend getting PML guys to do or any BMW servicing workshops to do. Also there are many fuel additives out there but so for I've only tried the 3M one from a friend's recommendation. So I can't really comment on others. But so far so good. Hope this helps.

My E30 320i does about 8.3-8.5km/L now. Prior when I inherited the car a couple of months back, it was doing around 7-7.3km/L.
One day, I just decided to use one of those STP fuel injector cleaners found in the petrol station and after "clearing carbon" on the long NS highway, I got a decent 8.3km/L.
I have been using the injector cleaners every 2K KM. small price to pay for better efficiency.
