fuel consumption for 335

Re: fuel consumption for 335

E90 335i, stock until cannot stock, mostly Eway 7.4km/L.
Doesn't matter if I drive below 2k rpm or rev to 3k. Diff 0.2km/L only.

Re: fuel consumption for 335

I'm getting average around 8.23km/L on the N55. Using an app on my phone to monitor where you key in your current mileage vs the liters you pumped in. Guess its quite accurate.

N55 Full tank till reserved - 500-550km. drive at 110-120km/h petrol saving is more efficient

That is insanity. Its already enough of a challenge for me to even hit 500, and you can even get 550 at times?? Sick man congrats HAHA!

Re: fuel consumption for 335

Do you know that when you pump petrol, after the "click" on the return valve, you still can fill up about another good 8-10litres? Usually i can pump till 58 litres or so when the reserve tank light comes on. So lets say 58 litres will take me for 500-550km. Good meh? =PPP Shell Petrol is more lasting.

Check your tyres pressure, spark plugs, air-filter, change your engine oil regularly and control your braking.

Erm, 500-550km with 58 litres is fantastic, even for the n55. Im assuming you live near the highway, and you use it to get to work all the time on the other side of the island, and you drive VERY conservatively. And close to no city driving at all. Nonetheless, congrats on the fuel economy.

Re: fuel consumption for 335

I don't drive a 335i, but 2 of my current cars have the N55 in-line six engine. The 640i averages 13.7L/100km (7.3km/L), while the F15 X5 swallows the miles (and gallons of petrol) at the rate of 15.5L/100km (6.45km/L) - I'm almost 100% city driving, and I'm an old unker, so I definitely don't floor nuffin'.

Re: fuel consumption for 335

My N55 also gives 500km per tank
And i do 60-70% city driving

Re: fuel consumption for 335

I'm doing on average 400 - 450km full tank.. (50/50 highway/city)
fully stocked 2009 E92 N54 335i
i could hit 500km if i travel above 120 on highway..

I'm still trying to push for 530 mileage. Lol... how do you do it?

Drive in D mode at all times and keep FC indicator at 5L/100km. I am very sure if other things like Air filter and tyre pressure , cleaned and maintained resp. u can obtain 550km/full tank

Re: fuel consumption for 335

my 320i e90 on 18" rims 50% city 50% highway (meaning if the journey is 20min, i spend 10min city and 10min expressway) is about 9.2 to 9.4km per litre; ie 55litres runs 505 to 515km
i am using castrol edge titanium 5w-40, pump shell98 and my driving habits:
highway: cruise at 2k rpm 90km/hr
city: pickup from traffic light is 3 to 3.5k rpm, then after pickup cruise 2 to 2.5k rpm at 60km/hr

most of the time, petrol is consume highest and wasted while waiting at traffic lights, and pickup from stationary
the more city driving you do, the higher your consumption

Re: fuel consumption for 335

It'll depend a lot on what kind of tune you have. I'm FBO with RB turbo inlets, pushing 21psi (tapering to 15psi), and I'm getting less than 6 km/l. I'm pushing a helluva lot more air into the cylinders, which means I'm also injecting a lot more fuel as well.

Also the kind of oil you use (the lighter the better km/liter, but possibly at the expense of less protection). If you have sludge in your drivetrain, it'll hurt FC.

Re: fuel consumption for 335

I have been driving my 07 E90 335I for 4 months now. My FC have been fairly stable. Able to get around 8km/l. I always pump when around 1/4 left in the tank and usually top about 50 liter when i travel around 400km with about 3/4 of the tank. My E90 is rather stock except for a quad exhaust.
