ah ok.. i sometimes wonder if ESSO SHELL or Caletx makes a difference in FC man.. I should switch over to 95 too to see if the FC gets better

i am on esso 95, stock 17 inch rims with goodyear excellence runflats.

getting 9.3 to 9.4 km.l with a mix of 50% city and 50% highway.

but i am super gentle on the pedal as i like to see the blue arrow on the brake regeneration come up

don't see any improvement in FC when using 98 octane once. need to do further testing

my friend who drives a 525i E60 says the manual for his car says that 98 octane is recommended while lower grades will impair performance.

somehow the F10 523i i don't detect any difference in performance with 95 or 98 octane, any different views ?

I'm on Shell 95. Tried Shell 98 on 2 occasions but no noticeable changes observed. Fuel lid says min Ron 95 so I reckon that should do the job. On stock 18" wheels and doing 40:60 expressway and city. A full tank gives around 520-540km. I'm happy with that..

Mine's 523i. The highline model comes with 18" (V-spoke 328).

dark knight, people who driving 535i with the twin turbo probably dun even bother about FC.

it is the entry level 523i people who would be more bothered about efficiency and thirst. ! :boring::boring::boring:

ya lah... quite true... the turbo will stuck if never use often...

and will experience turbo lag...

Quite true. Had a CX7 earlier and the turbo unit had to be replaced before 3rd yr as it wasn't responsive due to under usage. FC was terrible at 7km/L....

Hi folks,
just crossed my 2000km mark. 70% city and 30% express driving, mainly covering very short distances. 523i base model on 18" wheels. always on V power. clock 9.5km/L. drive very gently only occasionally surge to go fast (from stand still). :chinese:

any tips to do better?

sounds like I am the only one with FC which is quite lousy. Mine is mostly City driving and all short ones. Also, perhaps I am on 19" staggered setup.

Who says? Mine is bad as well, but i know that is due to city driving. Averaging 6+ km/l

what rims would u recommend for 17 inch ? That will be light and yet look good ? would like to put the bmw emblem on the rim too !
