hello there. going to hurry tires at bukit timah to buy new set of taiwan 167m style rims for my 630i. anyone have any problem with the shops?

Re: going to hurry tyre to buy new tires

ok thanks man. any experience with their taiwan rims?

Re: going to hurry tyre to buy new tires

..reasonable prices and very nice local boss BUT...watch out for:
1. the workers who mount your tyres......, my uni-directional tyres "outside" became "inside"....
2. the use of the tyre socket wrenches by the workers,....in the name of "haste" (hurry what!!)...they may pockmark your rims when they install back the tyres...my brand new rims were so pockmarked..

...btw, just to note, the workers who did these during my visit there were all from china...cause, I asked them where were they from after (1) and (2)...

Re: going to hurry tyre to buy new tires

+1 for the chinese workers.
you should stay close to them and remind them do things slowly and not to scratch your rims.
other than that, they are pretty good doing their jobs. anyway, the way they use the screw gun to mount the tyres is common in all shops la.

If we have to watch and tell the workers to be careful when putting the rims...it means something is wrong already.

Personally, I would go PitStop Tyres. All the workers all locals I believe.

But again, diff people got diff preference and experience. Cheers.

Re: going to hurry tyre to buy new tires

gr8golf88,
i agree with your point. if we need to supervise closely, something is not right. anyway, i do most people do that when my car is service i stay around to see see look look (to learn something) and also to be present so that the worker do a better job? ......

my tyres have been taken down/up for at least 10 times (change tyres, rims, adjust coilover, service brakes, etc)
i have never seen a single case that the worker handle the rim super careful. they squat, put the gun in fast and forcibly and start tak tak tak tak ....
i guess no worker will treat rim like owner do ... can we expect that level of careful and attention ?

Yes...no one is going to treat rims like owner does. At least, the guys at PitStop are aware when dealing wif rims that are requiring "special care" (vs. someone who are indifference.) But, as I mentioned lah, I might be a happy customer at PitStop (they even fixed my tyres for free when got nail on it), but other people might not.

Cheers.

Re: going to hurry tyre to buy new tires

try this:
YiMeiMotorSprayPainting
Blk16,SinMingRd,#01-77,AlvinYeo-Cell:98325159

for pricing, either u call to get an estimated quotation or u go down for them to assess the work required and then get a formal quote from there.

Re: going to hurry tyre to buy new tires

1 man meat another man poison.
i am agreed that if 1 has to be there a round and round to supervise the job by the service provider that means something is wrong.
But your purpose of doing so is to learn and enjoy watching the job and if happen to see something is not to your expectation just simple remind them Brother please take care
Some rim has a extremely tight hole for tyre wrench to be inserted in to secure the bolt (high risk of scratching your rim (rim designed) but of vourse that is way to minmised the scratch (your can see OE rim the HOLE is so huge and loose)
NO body is perfect:lol:
we have FT already more than 30yrs in Singapore
