Good car shine!

Just thought I would share a positive car polishing experience provided by a freelancer who operates out of Geylang Area.
He started off with a meticulous wash and claybar, followed by a cutting polish, then a finer cutting polish, a base primer and topped it off with an acrylic based sealant.
Prior to the polish, my car's got swirl marks in every darn conceivable area (due to the petrol station hand-wash over time). Look at it now! Ain't perfect but looks more self-respecting! :lol2:

You can contact Lee Teck @ 9688 3669. Pls don't PM me as I am not related to him in any other way... just sharing a good experience.

Re: Good car shine!

To answer some of your queries....

He is a "freelancer" and you have to book with him in advance. He works from Mon to Sat. Sats need to be booked way in advance. He usually entertains about 1-2 cars per day.

To me, a plus is that he does everything personally, so no grouchy foreign labour is used. Another bonus for me is that the place that he does it in is the private property of his family and hence is peaceful and quiet. (I get really irked by shops that need to shift your car 13 times per visit!) :)

Process-wise, due to the bad state of my car when I sent to him, it took him from 10am till 4.30pm! By the time we were done with the photos, it was 5pm.

Price depends on the condition of your car's paint. Due to the extremely bad state of my car's paint, I was initially quoted an estimate of SGD250. Upon completion of the job, I was charged only SGD230. I love people who take pride in their work and charge their customers fairly! I did *not* even negotiate with him because I know the prices at the more established places. :yummie:

---

Before I came to know about this, I was quoted prices ranging from SGD400 - 600++ for 1st polish by the "big names" in the business and they would not even guarantee the removal of swirl marks. :screwedu: You decide for yourself!

TIP: The easiest way to determine the paint condition of your car is to drive into a multi-storey carpark at night that is lit using white fluroscent light and park underneath it. Prior to the polish, I can see swirl marks all over that manifest itself like a "holographic" haze that rises out of the body surface!

Re: Good car shine!

Sigh... after seeing this, I can now go scrap my car liao... Yo Reardriven.. absolutely beautiful shine...:yikess:

Re: Good car shine!

Damn it turns out to be very stunning, indeed. How much did you spend to get the car done...

Re: Good car shine!

Great Shine....can I ask which type of product he is using? Zainol, Zymol? others? thanks

Re: Good car shine!

Wow. Good job man.

Please keep us posted if the swirl marks returns after some washes and rains. I understand the surface products used just cover the swirls for a while and they surfaces after some time. Did the machining damaged any of the seam, rubber and vinyl parts of the car?

I bumped across a UK guy doing similar work. enjoy...

Good question Car Man..!

Honestly, the shine dun surprise/amaze me.. many product out there can achieve such shine even DIY.... under the sun with some polish, anything shines like mirror....

try under dim lights and shine with a white touch light to check for swirl / fine scratches.. if none and after smetime still as good, than THIS guy is GOOD!!

Re: Good car shine!

Has been about 4 weeks since the car was polished. Happy to feedback that the "swirls" have not returned.

I know what you mean when u said the swirls may return as lots of polishes can temporary "mask" the swirls.

I think he uses Jeff Werkstadt products. Apparently the sealant is quite lasting, car body still feels very smooth like baby bottom!

All in all, I am happy with the money spent! :)
