Goodyear F1 Asymmetric after 10,000km

To all bros using Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric on their rides.

Appreciate if you could provide feedback on the noise and comfort levels of the tyres after having travelled more than 10,000km. I am planning to swap my Bridgestone RFT's for the Goodyear but was told that the tyres are smooth and silent initially, but becomes a real screamer after 10,000km.

If you have previously used Michelin PS2's and can draw comparison with the Eagle F1 Asymmetric, that would be most useful.

Many thanks. :)

bro, my current goodyear F1 asymmetric bought last sep is doing ok...didnt notice any increase in noise or discomfort...one obvious downside is FC (8.4km/l to 7.9km/l)..give better grip over the stock RFT...what i intend to do is use it past 10,000 km and monitor from there...if it fail the review, next purchase should be PS2...hope this helps a bit...

thanks bro.

read some of the reviews on tire rack and wanted to confirm with the bros here on the noise and comfort levels. seems like PS2 still reigns supreme in that area for max performance summer tyres. but also quite ex!

whats ur milleage on those goodyears now?

Re: Goodyear F1 Asymmetric after 10,000km

travelled 50km per day multiple by 150 days (5 months) = 7,500km...

i going to BOSS after CNY for servicing...will ask them to check condition of tyres and update u...swee bo?

Re: Goodyear F1 Asymmetric after 10,000km

My F1 done about 30KM. Rear tyre punctured at about 25K mark, did a patched up but the punctured hole cracked last week . And took the opportunity to change to PS2. F1 is fairly good reasonable comfort and noise level but cannot compared with PS2. However, it burned a hole in the pocket. Anyway, don't take my words for it .. part of the driving experience is to try out as many as possible the products in the market .. :wavey:

Re: Goodyear F1 Asymmetric after 10,000km

shiok a lot of grip on both wet and dry. very confident with these rubber as long as no recurring crack issues

Re: Goodyear F1 Asymmetric after 10,000km

Used for more than 15,000 km, so far ok, able to take street abuse. Dry grip is good. Noise is acceptable, so much better than previous csc1. Comfort is pretty ok, side wall do flex a little during hard cornering, ride on 18 staggerred with st suspension with hotchkis arb. Tyres still in good conditions, no cracks. Wet is decent but not good enough to cut thru paddles of water, tried fk452 before, it is divine in wet conditions. They are said tyres either carry water or disperse water.

Re: Goodyear F1 Asymmetric after 10,000km

I have Goodyear F1 Asymmentric 1 on my previous ride (staggered setting). Pretty noisy after 10k ride, feel like driving a landrover. Now using FK452, the noise level reduce alot compare to goodyear asymmetric 1.

That's strange. I had F1 Asym 1 on my E60 for 40,000km before worn to 1-2mm to indicator. Noise level much better than other tyres (PS2, PS, RE050A, RE001, NCT5 RFT) for the whole 40,000km. Now on Asym 2 for about 5,000km, quieter than Asym 1.

What car are you driving?

Re: Goodyear F1 Asymmetric after 10,000km

323i and always on high speed.....F1 worn out pretty fast, especially rear tyre..btw I was on 18" wheels

Re: Goodyear F1 Asymmetric after 10,000km

All 4 of my Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric cracked on the inner sidewalls after about 20k mileage.

They performed very well in the wet and dry before it died. Noise level was also relatively low for a performance tyre.

Cheers!

What is the profile? 35 or less? I ran Asym 1 (40-profile 18") till 40,000km no sidewall crack.

Re: Goodyear F1 Asymmetric after 10,000km

Hi Slater,

cheers

Re: Goodyear F1 Asymmetric after 10,000km

i have switched to CSC5P ... not bad at all
next is to try PS3 or PSS (but expensive)

Thought CSC5P is almost as expensive as PSS and S001? Think PS3 is similar price to Asym 2.
