Having difficulty to start engine after pumping petrol

Good day all,

I was pumping petrol this morning and when i try to start my engine, a prolong cranking occurs and it died off. Tried a few more times and still the same so I decided to remove my key for a few seconds and plug in and try starting my engine again. At first it was the same and then i try starting my engine the second time then it started. This is the second occurance. The first time happened when I pumped petrol in JB. Took me 3 attempts to start my engine.

Any kind soul can advice me what's going on?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Go to the workshop for a diagnostic assessment. Fault codes could show anything from battery to crank sensors to fuel pump.

What petrol grade did you pump in JB?

Last time i go JB pump shell(forgot wad grade) can hear knocking sound in my engine.

maybe you pump diesel instead of petrol ?
or you pump ron 92 ?

Malaysia shell vpower = Singapore shell ron 95.
always try to pump shell vpower in Malaysia.
but a lot of Malaysia petrol stations dilute their petrol with lower grades of petrol to maximize profits.
maybe high way petrol stations still ok.

What petrol grade did you pump in JB?

Was pumping shell 97 back then but that was about 3 weeks ago. Subsequently I pump one time in singapore (shell 98) then jb (petronas 97) then singapore again (shell 98) all was ok, until this morning.

Yes bro. Anyway I only pump shell in sgp.

Hi all,

Just checked from my mech. He said most likely is problem with fuel pump. He also asked if it only occurs when I pump petrol when petrol level is very low, which my answer is yes. He adviced try not to wait until almost empty tank then refuel.
