Heavy rims can tahan bumps better if u have big bums.. Or ur missus got big bums.. But light forged wheel can also do it.. Maybe even better
Heavy rims more difficult for u to accelerate hence preventing you to race chao ah bengs in lights and help u get less summons..
Heavy rims makes ur braking distance increase.. Make u scared.. Then won't speed which equates to better safety.. Scare u then u stop
Heavy rims are usually cheaper... Tts why people like.. Its like going after the fat girl in the class is easier than the sexy supermodels
Heavy rims can pian xiao mei mei say the rims is 200kg and u can lift it up .. Xiao mei mei can't tell the diff between 30kg to 300kg coz even if they tryu moving it it won't budge be it 30 or 300
Heavy rims can be a ice breaker in meetups.. U see someone with light rims u can say ' bro my rims heavy how?' And if someone wanna approach u ( especially gay in meetups ) its easier they will just say ' bro ur rims look heavy , need help? '
Heavy rims can be a reason if u lose someone in drag .. Similan also just blame the rims
Heavy rims are easier to replace , u go any rim shop they got one whole container of rubbish rims
Heavy rims are usually uglier.. So u can use that a reason whenever ur car can't pick up any members of the opposite sex.. Or same sex.. Without blaming youself
Heavy rims got higher fuel consumption .. Makes u feel more like a man by wasting more natural resources.. Girls like bad boys

I know U love heavy rims, just go for it man!!!
I see if I can get my supplier to find rims maker in States that can make super heavy 20" rims for your car......would you prefer 30kg or 40kg per rim??

sometime i asked myself is HEAVY CAR got any advantage? many say is more stable when we drive high speed, but drink petrol.
Original rims are generally on the heavy side, dont know why CAR maker always supply heavy rim:thinking:

There is no advantage to the ride with heavy wheels. Strength is not correlated to weight of wheels.
Instead of solely looking at weight, think about how the weight of the wheel is distributed. 2 wheels can be identical in weight, but the one with a heavier barrel is worse off than the one with a heavier centrepiece.

Hi I have my e92 for 15 months on 19" Breyton rims. Today I noticed that the inner side lining on my right front bumper has a big hole which exposes the internal wiring of the head lamps.
I was told this may be due to incorrect off-sets, but when i checked the left side there was no similiar problem.
Has anyone experienced similiar problems after going from 17" to 19"?
And how do i fix this? thanks

Thanks. I checked and took it to workshop they say offsets are not right. But its strange as only the right front tyre is affected. The left front tyre is ok?
I mean...if ths is offset not right then both tyres should be affected? I am quite pissed as I upgraded the 19" Breytons from Ray-S Sport only in Feb last year!!! The wheels only have 21,000 km mileage and my right front tyre is worn out caused by the rubbing!!!
They say its possible that i ran into a porthole and affected the suspension and alignment.....thats why...If this is the case I accept this but how likely is this?
Has anyone heard any bad publicity on Ray S Sport? Could they have gotten my offests wrong from the start? I mean they are supposed to be Tyre specialists and claim they installl 19" Breytons on BMWs all the time...
Now i worry that i may have to downsize my rims to 18" and it will cost me another few $k......

21k km is some decent distance travelled already...so not that bad for your investment of nearly 1.5 years on this set of wheels.
As to why only right front, and your doubts on the tire shop's suspect on alignment, best is do what Kenntona says and get it verified by an alignment shop. $60-$80 bucks to verify the problem is affordable. Else you will never know who is right and who is wrong.
With the alignment report you can go back to tire shop to make claims it they are in specs and you confirm the offsets are wrong.
Can't you get the tire shop to remove the wheels to verify the offsets (they should be marked on your rims although i have no experience with Breyton rims) first?
Maybe only your right rim offset is wrong.
Could you post a pic of the hole and your tire wear?
Did you experience rubbing noise when turning right or left or when driving straight? I will be surprised if you have never heard any rubbing noises if you can rub through a hole on your car......

Doubt this is an alignment issue - kind of interesting to think about this - For a hole that size as described there should be a lot of rubbing sounds if its caused by the tyres/rims.
