Hello and looking to get a X5

Hi everyone,

Its my first time visiting this forum. I am looking to join the BMW family by getting a 2010 or 2011 X5.
Can any kind souls here advise :

1. What are the things to check or watch out for when getting the X5?

2. Is it a reliable car? What are the common issues or problems and what to expect?

I am currently driving the Q5 and it is a nightmare car in terms of reliability and repair costs. i hope the X5 will be much better.

The X5 35 shd be a nice engine. Or the X3 35 if you don't need a 7 seater.

Hi welcome! I was keen on an X5 before coz i found it to be the most handome 7 seater SUV.

Anyway i believe there are turbo and NA version in 2011 and the price gap can be hugh. Bearing that i would definitely go for the newer turbo version for power and efficiency

Anyway since u are already on Q5 i'm sure FC is not an issue for u

The older 3.0L version is no good?

Only certain batches of older model comes with 7 seaters. I think it may be from 2008 or 2009. Nothing wrong with the NA. Trusty engine.
