Well 6 years ago, the interiors of the Bimmer were quite tacky compared to the IS250 and the difference in HP (not exactly like for like, but 250 vs the 320). After 6 years, car was due for a switch, and kinda liked the F30s. Rear cabin space was also a consideration, but I hear the new 250 comes with a slightly extended base
