Ta Ge
How are you? Long time no see you liao. I miss TCSS with you.
Yes, we have covered this topic before. Happily, I don't have this problem of cats sleeping on my softtop anymore.
Cat repellents do work. That is what I used until somehow the cat that was sleepin on my softtop just suddenly dissapeared.
But as I said before, one method which I think would be highly effective is the one I learnt through observation of a National Geographic (or was it Animal Planet) documentary.
In that documentary, the farmers in an African village were having persistent intrusions from gazelles that ate their crops. They tried many methods of scaring away the gazelles but they did not work. Finally, they came up with an ingenious method by spreading lion dung around the perimeter of their crop field. The smell of the lion dung tricked the gazelles into thinking that lions were around and so they stayed away.
So, if you spread some dog shit (kow sai) on the softtop, this will cause the cats into thinking that dogs are around and since cats don't like dogs, the cats will stay away.
I never had the chance to test this out. It would be good if someone here can try and then do a field report.
Ta Ge, hope to see you soon .
