Hi Guys & Gals!

Bro

More than half = NOT so normal.

Better get it checked, just to be safe.

Cheers!

Re: Help! Engine Temp..

check radiator water level...try topping up....can add coolant if u want.
caution!!! wait a couple of hour before opening up radiator cap cos dangerous

Re: Help! Engine Temp..

not more than half mark... i had to overhaul me previous E36 engine cos of over-heating... financially damn pain...

Re: Help! Engine Temp..

Not normal to be at 3/4 mark. Get it checked, could be coolant level low.

Re: Help! Engine Temp..

Its either your fan clutch is gone or your thermostat is stuck open...... Does your car warms up slow, if yes then its the thermostat. If temperature rises at normal time taken then its your fan clutch needs to change.... fan clutch is $70-$80 only..... Thermostat costs $15... Do check if there is any coolant leaking....your water pump might weep also, but if water pump failing the temp will rise and rise continously to red line same symptoms also goes for leaking coolant hoses.

Re: Help! Engine Temp..

If both thermostat and fan clutch have change and u still get 3/4 temp gauge, then radiator is clogged...... I had gone through this before :(
