Bro, give chance a bit lah... we are old(er) - in my case, 1/2 way (if not further along) to meet my maker. With age, comes wisdom mah. TS will learn from the wise words of advice dispensed.

My starting salary was $1700, all inclusive. BMW back then? I'd be happy to keep my belly warm with 3 square hot meals a day! Now, people hear my starting salary, they wonder why I bothered to go to Uni... KNN

Re: Help me become a Bimmer nut please!

Actually I am with Totoseow. Most youngsters I have met are on high leverage with credit cards, credit lines and loans. I have been approached by a young OL with an indecent proposal to pay off her credit card bills. Unfortunately (for her), I am a changed man. But I saw her talking to Toto and TripleM after that. [Run Away]

There are some who are not working yet but leveraging on parents' support. Not sure if they could stand firm on their own. Nothing wrong with that, but I am not sure if that's the right values inculcated for the next generation.

Re: Help me become a Bimmer nut please!

Bro Kenntona, you should have accepted her proposal, then charged her for your services....

+1, but we cannot stop their rich parents from providing them the support & luxury.

For those working hard & earn between $3000 - $5000, go for re-sale market, COE 19yrs high, u commit new car u will be siong when unemployment happens. E.g. My client monthly $10,000 Kenna retrench last week with $80,000, she has 2 condominium mortgages. Not enough pay COE.

Ken should recommend the girl to me. Wasted.

Parents can give anything they want, but values is on a different platform of analysis. No one can stop that. Up to them entirely.

KPO a lot, you go dig.

Re: Help me become a Bimmer nut please!

Hi fellas,

Hi totoseow, I do not know who you are or if you're a senior/junior member on this forum or whatnot. As it appears you are not getting your facts right before commenting, but I will however listen to Wobbles and not take offence at your prematurely judgemental words.

FIrstly, I have the budget for a newer Parf car, but I will take it you know these cars cost almost the same / even more expensive than an E46 with renewed COE. By this I am referring solely to monthly installments.

I am just thinking that for the approx same amount, wouldnt it be nicer to get a car I actually like, rather than one that is newer but not what I like. On this note, you are free to share your views. I am not buying a car just for its marque, and you're going too far ahead to judge. Aren't we all on this forum just for the simple reason that we like Bimmers?

How the hell the thread progressed to judging young people about not having the drive and will to work for things they want, I do not know. I take it your impression about young people being spendthrift and lazy comes from your own personal experiences. Again, I stand corrected, feel free to clarify or correct me.

I'd be happy to share with you some of my background info if you want, before you actually proceed to judge. Just not on the forums though. Drop me a message, I will come by and we can have a drink, and the added benefit is you can get to know me before judging. First round drinks will be on me, so fret not.

All in all, I appreciate all you other fellas' comments / opinions so far.

Cheers
Tim
