Hey all,

awesome community you guys have here ;). Hope to learn loads of stuff from here and make more friends too.

Hoping to get my first BMW soon. And that brings me to my burning question,

whats the difference between the entry level Z4 and the sdrive 35i

Anyone has a comparison chart or something like that?

Thanks :)

Re: Hey guys!

WHATSSUPPP! Entry level meaning the 2.5i orr???

Re: Hey guys!

Calling slater and ac323....
Pls advise.

Re: Hey guys!

sDrive23i or so called entry level is 203bhp and 250nm of torque, naturally aspirated engine, 0 to 100km/h in 7.3 secs. sDrive35i is a twin turbo engine with 300bhp, 0-100km/h in 5.3 secs. if u r power hungry sDrive23i confirm no fight as compared to sDrive35i.

iam on the sDrive23i, power is really quite sufficient.

Sdrive35i comes with a few additional gizmos like M adaptive suspensions which electonically adjusts to your DDC (dynamic drive control) settings. it comes with the DCT transmission as well that sDrive23i doesnt come with. brake calipers and rotors r much bigger on the sDrive 35i.

if $$$ not an option i highly advise the Sdrive35i

How is the entry level Z4 a 6 cylinder engine at 2.5 liters and the sdrive 35i one at 3 liters? It does not make sense to me lol, can someone enlighten?

Re: Hey guys!

what i meant was, whats the difference between the 2.5 6 cylinder and the 3 6 cylinder? Do they count the turbocharger into the capacity or something? :p

Thanks :)

Cant really pin down what you are after...but i try to give some info (though i not expert)... :D

Turbocharger is used to 'force' more air than normal (also term as 'natural') process into the engine so that it can compress more air into the 3000cc engine..TC does not account for any increase in calculating the overall size of the engine...even though it can help the 3000cc engine create more horsepower than what a normal 3000cc engine can generate...

Z4 is offered in namely 3 types engine size...2.5, 3.0 and 3.0TC...

Re: Hey guys!

I see, thanks for the info, but thats exactly what i do not understand, if the 3000cc engine in the sDrive 35i is the award winning 6cylinder twin-turbo one in the 335i (correct me if i'm wrong), then what kind of 6 cylinder is in the sDrive 23i, with only 2.5 liters. Is it the same in regard to any other BMW models?

Sorry if my questions were so confusing :p, really thankful for the help guys
