Hey there,

Am a newbie here. Just got my 318 (sports edition) a month back! Black II on black. Thrilled as ever to have decided on the car. Even more thrilled on discovering this forum.

Anyway, just like to sought advice/comments from any gurus out there

- Is it acceptable to hear some wind noise (very slight) at 80-90 km/h, or am I too sensitive?

- Currently have $700 vouchers from PML, any suggestions on what would be a good item to get?

That's all for now!

since got wind noise can spend it on M3 or ACS sports mirror for more aerodynamics. maybe will reduce wind noise?

Anyway, congrats!

Not sure what the M3 steering wheel looks like, but the sports edition comes with M3 trims etc already, ie door sill, the 17" M alloys, the steering has the M logo below, leather steering wrap. (is this the M3 steering?)

:wavey: Hi elmo, welcome to BMW.SG, u might want to consider getting the Advanced Driver Training if u got nothing to get.....
Actually..i agree with this!

Even, tho it may not be the most advanced training you will get.... it will defintely make you understand your car and appreciate it a lot better.

ON THE DOWNSIDE...

you may wished you purchased a 330 instead..................

i still remember stopping my ex E46 in the middle of the expressway to check whether my brakes were rubbing after the course. :verysad:

How abt getting sun shades rear and sides since they are kinda practical.

Hi !

Welcome to BMW Forum.

I faced the same problem regarding the Wind Noise when I travel above 90KM/Hr.

I have already send my car to PML 4 times to complain but until today still not solve yet. My car is only 8 months old.

They blame it on the original Side Mirror. This why some brothers in this forum recommend you to change to M3 Mirror.

I will continue to complaint to PML until they solve the problem for me :(
I still have 2 years and 4 Months to complain :argue:

If they still blame it to the side mirror then they should change the mirror to M3 for me  After all it is their design problem :argue:

As long as the mirrors function as mirrors, hard to argue design fault leh. U wld have a stronger case if the test car u first drove did not make that kind of noise at that kind of speed :)

Hi ! T6.

I did not test drive the car before I purchase because I have driven a rental car during my holiday in Melbourn for 5 Days.

Came back to Singapore and decided to purchase BMW without test drive :)

If it is the mirror that is causing the noise, I suppose then that the same wind noise can be observed on the passenger side as well?
Which means that it is quite a common complain. Kind of strange that BMW did not kill this issue during the face-lift, M3 mirrors would have just been fine....

As for the voucher issue, actually thought of the side and rear sun shades, but my agent reminded me that it is not legal to drive with them installed, only when it is parked. Besides, I am already v-kooled.

Thanks for the great info. BTW, how much is the M3 side mirrors (OEM/chiong ones). And will the curb side mirror tilt still work with them installed?[/quote]
