Whats the bhp and how responsive is the engine?

And what made you choose a 323i over a 325i?

323i: 190hp / 5900rpm and 230nm / 3250rpm (top speed 231)
325i; 218hp / 6500rpm and 250nm / 2750rpm (top speed 242)
