Hi there,

I'm not a BMW owner haha. Though I love cars....

I'm actually a researcher and I'm here to ask for some feedback about my study on car mileage tax to replace COE scheme in SG.

Just joined this forum so I know I cannot start a topic. Will continue posting until I become an official member :)

Though if you guys are interested in my study, I made this 1-minute video I posted on youtube:

Please check it out if you're interested :) Also, there is a 15 minute survey http://goo.gl/glhTih
I made to ask for your feedback :)

Thanks a lot for your help! Really appreciate it.

Hope you're having a nice day ;)

Your English is very well spoken.
pardon my grammar and good luck for your study.

Sounds good in theory, but there's gonna be lots of techincal issues.

1) For starts, who is going to bear the cost of retrofitting existing cars?
2) nobody likes a gps tracking device fitted in their car. Location privacy concerns.
3) gps device can theoratically track your speed in real time too. Many drivers will be slapped with multiple speeding fines every week!
4) gps dont work well in tunnels. Singapore happens to have the world's longest man-made underground tunnel highway.
5) sometimes, my gps goes wonkers in cbd where there is a high density of tall buildings. Reliabilty issues.

I think Jonleeleck will 100% disagree on the gps issue. Rescue team will always misunderstanding due to he always park at jungle, abandon carpark........

Hi. I tried to participate in your survey to provide my feedback but it failed at the very first page. Maximum input parameter for the mileage field is only 25,000km.

By the way, please feedback this - remember what happened in the 2000s when LTA started to fiddle with the COE Quota. All hell broke loose, the roads were flooded and how many years have we drivers suffered because of that?!!!

My English ain't the best but I know one phrase - IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DO NOT SCREW WITH IT.
