Usually, when I post compliants on mycarfoum about some rude JDM drivers i met on the road, people say I pro-bmw, look down on other lesser marques la, bias......so today I am gonna make an exception.

To the said driver, I cannot but feel disgraced somehow driving an e90 as well as your road actions surely have given other drivers a bad impression of like bimmer owners like us. You kuku driving along thomson road around 3pm like u're showing off. Well let me tell you, e90s are common these days, nothing to show off or drive like a pro....our cars arent supercars u know in case if have been disillusioned.

Anyway this bloke was right behind me on Thomson on lane 1>>Sembawang, with daylights on, debagded, 19s and what not....as the cars slow down in front for a right turn junction, I signalled left to switch lanes. this cheeby also switch to lane 2 and came charging and horn when my car is halfway into lane 2, causing me to jam brake and switch back into lane 1. My wife who was drinking, spilled some coke on the floor mat. Truly taxi driver attitude as I ve encountered mostly from certain cabbies. Not only that, as this cheeby drives by me, he somemore can give me and my wife that howlian look n dunno what $hit he was mummbling in his mouth. As we next move off at the traffic lights(bloke in front of me this time), I was telling my wife.....I think this is the rudest Bimmer I ve seen, and so I want to see if he does behave like some other 'runners' I usually encountered driving other marques ( runners to me meants that kind of cars who when you get near their rear, they will start throwing driving stunts, dashing off , switch lanes in a siao manner...bascially trying to run away from you in a childish manner. Usually I dont see this type of behaviour in bimmers). True enough he did, from the way he squeeze in between a cab and a bus.

Well in case u dunno u stupid, I just tricked u into speeding past a usual Cop-hiding spot. U might receive a summon in 2 weeks from now. if you dont consider yourself really lucky but pls exercise more graciousness and courtesy. Dont digrace the BMW community.

Should I also give up my accoun name "ahbengdriver" to this bloke since it suits him better?:thinking:

Funny. Just happened today that I had to rush coz a rear passenger sheepishly told me that she'd stained my seats. I said it's ok, I'll clean it later. She said you don't understand, it's blood. Oh man, my seats are white! It's pedal to metal from then on. Lucky it came off later. Hahaha.

This type of behaviour is uncalled for and gives us BMW drivers a bad name and reputation. If he does this to a fellow Bimmer, I shudder to imagine his ya-ya attitude to other car makes, especially the smaller cc cars.

I was at Esso Bedok topping up petrol and this uncle was also doing the same infront of me.

I walk back to my ride, sat in it and saw the uncle walking to his 5 series infront of me.. He look at my ride and mumble to himself and his face was showing this disgusted look..

Maybe because my mirror is the type where: I can see you, but you can't see me..

Then again, I don't bother and drove off..

Well, this kind of drivers do exist.. what can we do.. just don't bother and drive safely..

What does that even mean? Since when does driving the same make of car obliges people to be nicer to each other? Are BMWs exclusively bought by a different class of people who don't exhibit "this type of behaviour"?

It's time to stop referring to BMWs/drivers as being superior. Remarks that discount "smaller cc cars" always end with "Why, drive BMW big fark is it?"

I hope you don't get my post wrong.

I respect all drivers on the road.. drove a performance car previously and we do give way or so called am nice to each other on the road.

I've never looked down on other rides.. because at the end of the day.. its not the ride.. it's the DRIVER..

Mate. Hang on a minute. Don't get your knickers all twisted just yet.

What i meant was that, as it is, BMW, Mercedes or continental makes have a bit of a reputation of snobbishness or more crudely "ya-ya". In the same vein, WRXs and EVOs have a boy racer/ speedster image. The purpose here is not to discuss whether or not this is perceived or real or even whether this is justified. This discussion is for another day. The fact is that it exists.

My point is that this sort of behaviour is uncalled for whatever car you drive, be it Toyota, Honda or otherwise and in this particular instance ( and of relevance for discussion in this BMW forum) would exacerbate the unjustified perception of BMW drivers as a whole. One bad apple and all that.

I think you need to be clearer as to what an "obligation" entails and what would be a mere mutual courtesy. I do not believe that anyone can identify a law or rule anywhere which obliges or compels nice or courteous behaviour between owners of the same make. Seeing a fellow Bimmer on the road makes me smile as I would recognise someone with the same taste. Nothing wrong with that. Similarly, if I see someone from my neighbourhood or family walking by in Orchard Road, I would similarly smile.

In this instance, the car can give way out of normal road courtesy.

By referring to "smaller cc" cars, I am not suggesting or implying any air of superiority for the purposes of this discussion. Please note that I used the term "smaller cc" cars. We all know that BMW manufactures larger capacity cars around 2k cc and above. Basically this is a reference to size and engine. What I meant was that this silly driver might think too highly of himself and his supposedly "more powerful" engine to bully smaller capacity cars, brand and make notwithstanding.

I do not wish to be pedantic but there is a difference in what was stated and I trust to have made my points clearer.
