Re: Hougang by-election

I predict its going to be a WP victory...

a lot of recent things going on with a lot of ppl being disgruntled with the gahmen.

eg...

constant SMRT train break down
FT killing locals
cost of living...high food, high car prices, high coe prices, high housing, high transportation, increasing crime rates etc.

DC go in as a sacrificial lamb.... how many senior PAP ministers have gone out of their way to support / back him?? TCH go rally and support...

having said that.... I hope I am not saying rubbish and my predicting turns out right....

Re: Hougang by-election

have MPs ever made a difference in your lives?

Have you ever seen the MPs around?

Have MPs in parliaments ever made a big difference?

i don't know. anyone knows?

Re: Hougang by-election

I dont even see police around. Only in Prata Shop buy take away.

Re: Hougang by-election

I have NEVER seen my MP.

I envy Hougang - served by TWO contesting MPs all these while. Perhaps it makes more sense to keep it STATUS QUO and let the competition whips the services to the people !!!

Re: Hougang by-election

and DC dare to say no covered walkway, things are getting old and not good for old people, etc

For 20 over years, PAP has been neglecting Hougang (no upgrading etc). Now DC wana act like savior of Hougang, it's like stabbing someone and then offering a plaster.

Re: Hougang by-election

so will putting DC in make a difference or will it allow them to relak jack again whilst DC gets nicely congratulated (or rewarded??) for getting back the area?

if you watched the news few days ago, after they showed DC speech about no covered walkway , the next scene showed the reporter standing in front of a covered walkway. thought that was funny.

Re: Hougang by-election

I cant help but want to list out some of the stuffs that I find it so ironical by MIW:

- "WP is sending their grade 2 candidate for Hougang coz they are over confident"
Isnt this the same as "MIW is sending any candidate into GRC coz they WERE almost sure win

- "Uncles/Aunties, I will never leave you guys and I will do this and that"
If MIW has put Hougang in the same queue as other SMC/GRC, they will not be in such stage and conditions.

- "If everyday has Ministers/MPs resign, how to manage the country"
But do we govt which keeps all those CMI ministers in the payroll? Dont sack people even they fail to perform just say "what to do, it happened, lets move on"

- "We dont need WP in parliament to hear alternative voice, we got Mr Brown"
They value Mr Brown more than MPs, so 2016 onwards, dun need elections liao, just erection will do"

- "YSL is a closed case"
DPM Teo keep harping on this. Just like the last GE when GCT said he wont comment on TJS. But when the going gets tough, GCT commented on his ex-staff. Buay steady

Re: Hougang by-election

From mrbrown.com

Some of us seem to wish the by-election is islandwide. @perpendi wrote on Twitter: "Secretly wishing the by-elections were being held in Chai Chee instead."
Er, Chai Chee By-Election sounds wrong leh.

Not all policies are bad.... like what one ex-MP of MIW said yesterday, without the past leaderships in MIW, we will not be here now exchanging views in internet forum.
