How does the Bluetooth BMW carphone feature works

Re: How does the Bluetooth BMW carphone feature works

Careful with the BMW i-bus thingy. Different versions of 3-series has different computer sys. There is a "high" and "low" version.

I once asked PML to order the original 6:9 Nav system, had it installed, and then (they) found that it don't work because our singapore E46 are the "low" version.

I doubt bimmernav is accurate in their assessment - they are probably not familiar with our batches of cars.

Re: How does the Bluetooth BMW carphone feature works

I am currently using Motorola BT Car Kit. About 2 years old. At that time was about $380 including installation. Not perfect. System dies onces in a while and requires "reboot", i.e. had to "open fuse" and disconnect from power source. Then re-pair and it will be ok. Finally, I had my installer put in a on/off switch on the power supply and this makes "reboot" easier.

Which mean, if you are going to install one, be it SE or Nokia or even Parrot, I would ask the installer to wire in a on/off switch.

I am kind of keen to play with the new SE HCB-120. Anybody has any experience with this model.
