I just upgraded my 05 320i to a Oct 08 520i last week.

Should be collecting my bimmer this week either Wednesday or Thursday.

Its a maroon color ride.

Dear all, apologies for high jacking this, but I have a burning question. Could anyone please advise me the horse power of E60 registered in 2008? I've received conflicting information, some said it's 156bhp while others said 170bhp. Or there are two types?

170 bhp should be 523....

unless it is the LCI model then is 190hp but then maybe got mods???

Thanks AC and yes it is 4 cyc and no, at least for now, not being challenged by either ride. A sad story. First time buying a pre-owned BM and from a user car dealer. Owned a jap car previously. One of the considerations of getting the 520i was based on the dealer's claim that it has 170BHP.
Collected the car yesterday and while checking with PML on procedures of updating owner's records, I asked and was told that my ride's 156bhp. I was naive enough to trust the dealer's representation. BTW, the car is original condition with no modification. Helpless now.

yes, usually we cant trust these dealer info that much...........probably they meant no harm ( humpless ) but it just that they always like to claim this and that ( owner park shelterred, never drive to Bangkok, owner LEAVING, Doctor/Tuition Teacher owner, Blah Blah Blah......) is normal...they are just making a living ( like we are not )............at times we just need them to be honest and more upfront to make the deal more Refine and Strawberry.....

either that or they ( dealers ) don't know much about the car themselves thus anyhow wack....

hard to find good dealers too....................

ok, enough said..........hope you enjoy your Sheer Driving Pleasure...

anyway, do you want to mod to 170hp????

Thanks for the kind salutations and encouraging words.

I will be collecting my ride this afternoon.

As for the BHP...yes i did checked with my dealer before i signed on the dotted line on the 520I and he said its about 156bhp. Only the bigger CC 5 Series comes with 170bhb and above.

For me 156BHP is fine as i m not really a hard driver. My 320i previously was about that BHP too i believed. I just want to enjoy the ride and features of the 520i eg the Idrive and other cool stuffs not available in my 320i.

Sheer driving pleasure FTW
