Re: How much do I need to bid for the Car number 333

maybe you can use this as a rough gauge... S**33 was being sold for almost 9k. i would think 2 digit plates cost more than 3 digit plates.

I don't think there is a hard and fast rule for securing a new number from LTA. In certain series, they may be more popular coz they may have special meaning to a bidder and he goes in and bid high.

Double-digit numbers can be had from $1.5k onwards I shd think. Much depends on whether anybody else is similarly interested in the same number. I know of friends who bidded on 72, 81, 83 etc at less than $2k. I also have another fren who bidded and got 333 abr 3 yrs back and he paid $3.8k for it.

Abt 2 yrs back, I had to decide whether to bid 80 or 86 and I decided to try 86 for $2.1k as frens told me 80 wld be more popular. Guess what? I was outbidded on 86 and there was no bid on 80. Which means had I bidded $1.1k for 80, I wld have gotten it.:furious:

i got a friend bidded 71 for 2k, i think it's all depanding on luck and alphabets.

double digit same is likely more $$

Re: How much do I need to bid for the Car number 333

Tried SGQ333S and SGS333G, both unsuccessful. Anyone here bidded these two numbers? My friend got his 33 for 3k+, so only 1/3 of market price. good investment.

I heard LTA may reject the bid if they think the amount is too low. I don't think they will offer us the 80 for below $2000/=.

Can't be lah. That cannot explain how a fren of mine paid $1.8k for 83 which shd be a hot number too.

Re: How much do I need to bid for the Car number 333

Wow, your friend very lucky. same as my friend who got his 99 for $3188/=. I heard some guy got the 33 for 3K+ also. Does it make sense to pay 5k for 333?

I think it sounds bit too much for 5k
It's probably different tho if it's 888

Alot had to do with luck to be honest. I got my 81 for 1.3k 1.5yrs ago , sweet :)

Re: How much do I need to bid for the Car number 333

as a reference.....3K were bidded several times for the SFx series without success and ended up securing the number for 4.5K .

Bro, No such thing that LTA will reject if they think that the bid too low. I got mine 888 for $1,2k only, Because at that cycle, there was no bidder for it.

If I have a $5k budget, I will hunt for an old plate in Straits Times Classfied. The good thing abt old plate is that people cannot tell how old your car is. You car can only be new once rite?:lol2: .

Re: How much do I need to bid for the Car number 333

There are always crazy peoples paying crazy price for the no. One of my friend bidded 8k for the no.2883 about 10 years ago. I just couldn't understand why he need to bid such a high price. Don't what reason behind him???
