how much will a may'03 520i executive series fetch right now

Moreau,

Just an wild uneducated guess.
Approximately $150K to a private buyer?

This is taking into account, the current selling price, first year's depreciation, less initial freebies (road tax, overtrade, finance rebates) & 1 year less warranty coverage.

A car dealer or 5-series owner/owner-to-be would be in much better position to give a more accurate price!

Regards.

Actually i doubt that it will be 150k, prob much less bc i think the last batch was abt 175k. prob around or less than 140k bc the e60 03 520 is going ard 150-160K+. 1st year u lose abt 30k or more for a beemer.

May '03 will be considered 2.5 yr old car by the time you try to sell it to the dealers in say April '05. That's how they work their 'holding-cost contingency' sums, based on my own experience.

So you will be lucky if you are offered at least $120K for your 520i. Am not surprised if they offer you $110K only ... with reasons like having to match new cars selling at 55% PARF (on 10th year, vs your 65%), older model (i.e., less demand) and all the blah.

They will also probably argue on a $30K/yr average depreciation basis, over the first 2 years, for conti/luxury cars to arrive at the $110K number.

Go try asking around. I don't think $110-120K will be far wrong.

For 2.5 yrs old E39 should be around S$125k max to private owner.
Unless the paper value is very high i.e. OMV + COE about S$100k then you can get higher value.

I bought mine at S$130K 6 months back. May 2003 executive 520i.

I have observed early 2001 models (80% parf) ones going for about 95-105k region, depending on options available.

E39 took a big hit from the E60 but that is only expected since they look radically different.

i see...means its the same batch as my dad's car.think if 6 mths ago,its able to fetch 130k,i think now shld be ard 115-120 range ba...thks for the inputs anyway.

Sorry, my estimate is completely wrong. I thought that it was 1 year old (i.e. May 04) and the E60 model..

If it's the E39 model, I think the depreciation is around $10-11K/annum for the remaining years left. May 03 falls in the 65% parf scheme right?

If parf is around $32K (~50K OMV), then it's gonna be around $88K (8yrs x 11K) + 32K = $120K to a private buyer.
