thats a good point C3P0. Usually after polish the surface is super kim and goot. Hence not much dirts gets trap on the surface. Will just hose it and wipe dry. Until such time when it is too dustry, then have to start using shampoo. Try using shampoo's that do not strip the protective layer of sealant or wax coated by your groomer, think thats the best way

Cool, many thanks for the advice!

Re: How often to polish car???

maybe, lets get some concensus and go for a good groomer and bargain for a GOOD price. Hopefully, we can get like 10 polish a year at a reasonable price.

Re: How often to polish car???

lets start by collating which groomer you guys use. Then negotiate with the groomer most commonly used.....

1) Slater - Groomwerkz

Re: How often to polish car???

Logically, it should be "pay-when-you-use". As unfortunately, there are some whom I believe had paid some groomers a package fee only to find that the groomer had closed shop. Thus, I feel it may not be acceptable to pay a lump sum - in advance - if this is one of the groomer's condition. F-I (forget it).

Ah, good point. Though most groomers nowadays require us to sign up package. (Like facial like that lah.) That's why I tried my best to find one that has been in business for a few years already. If I pay $1k, and the groomer close shop, I think I cry until no oil.

But of course, it still depends on luck. Groomers who had been in business for many years, still can collapese....

Re: How often to polish car???

Sorry, apologise again for hijacking your thread... last one..

I am truly glad that you also concerned with the issue of "longevity" of the groomer:)

There are two considerations:-
1. As you had rightly pointed out.. there are no guarantees that even a long term groomer will always be there.
2. Greed begets greed. One groomer told me that some groomers suddenly took on so much "subsriptions" that either they are overwhelmed with the success.. and purposely close down later. As such companies can easily restart and make big bucks ... by collecting revenue. Greed tempted them to close shop! Thus imagine, if 100 of us place a deposit.. to many of us is chicken feet but to some.. it means $100,000! U know-:((

For example, there are famous cases of car washers at petrol stations issuing out coupons at reputable petrol kioks.. and closed down.

Frankly, I won't take the risk and allow my skirt to be pulled down - ever. Thus... no one can ever cheat Ah Lian nor we want to tempt them! hahahaha:woottt:

Re: How often to polish car???

i agree on no-subscription. the only reason i went into that was because couple of years back, the grooming companies would wash your car only if you're a member. that situation has changed.

coupled with the fact that i wash my car only every few months now, so point has become moot.

in addition, i find groomers exhibit more diligence when grooming is done on one-time basis, maybe to impress u enough to sign up.

but once u sign-up, the service drops.

Re: How often to polish car???

Bro, poor response lei. why dont you start another new thread ask more people to participate.

I think I will go for Groomwerkz, but I am hoping to negotiate a 10 polish deal. Too lazy to wash la, better go for more polish. Maybe every 6 weeks 1 polish

Re: How often to polish car???

Anyone knows where the head unit can play MP3? If not, any solution? I don't wish to buy the Ipod connector.

Thanks
