Based on Kenn's rule of thumb on affordability, we can work out the minimum wage of his. How much are 3-yr old 335i and jepun wagon?

Not forgetting he part-time too as 'night guard' to milfs. That means he is sitting on a huge pile of cash and investments!

My arbitrary rule is cost of vehicle, new, should not exceed 10% of valuation of current resident property. If house value at $5M, then max is $500k car. Looks good too since you will not be too miserly or too ostentatious. Keep vehicle proportional to the property. If wanna crash a 599GTO, I must be able to afford a GCB first, even though I might be able to get a 2 year old write-off 599GTO at $500k, because the rule applies to the cost of brand new car with 10 years COE.

First.... it is possible to pay for 500k car....with 50 x $10,000 bill stuffed into cargo pants pocket or stacked neatly in a wallet....

but bring cash to pay is passe leh.... why never say Amex Black Centurion card.... hearsay somesay... 500k credit limit or more....somemore can earn airline miles....


anyways....wouldn't the AD question where the source of funds came if its all cash...nowadays open private bank account is write cheque hor....

It's up to individual.

Sure, creative loan officers can get you full loan twice your pay, but after that, you have to think twice about the other aspects of your lifestyles. Buy watch must think twice, go holidays must fly budget, go cheong must watch the tap, go KTV pay $30 tip and bargain with valet for $2 change, mod car must ask for instalments and cheapest parts....... what's the point?

Balance in life easier on yourself.
